This thread is for all to share your method, habits and/or tips/advice for when you sit down to begin your writing process. For me, it's not always a planned operation but I like to take time to play through the instrumental a few times. Really get the feel for it and sync up with the vibe before I ever try to think of a single lyric. Then I draw off the mood the track put me in for the lyrics, I think it really unites the music. How about you guys?
I like to find an instrumental to write to. Then I just write as I record. If it doesn't sound good then i trash bits and pieces until I'm happy with the whole composition
I study a beat for hours days weeks months sometimes, I force nothing. I play the beat think of a bar replay and repeat until the songs done then I write down what I created in my head.
Hell yeah, me and one of my friends were just talking about this the other day, I've never done that with full intent and purpose but I've been meaning to, I haven't explored that zone of creativity yet. That's rad man.
Just think of each word in clusters of syllables each with their own unique sound. Also look up pentameter.
get it all out of your head in some form of language, like a buckshot from a shotgun, then make it presentable
