What is your car history?

Discussion in 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' started by AsthmaticStoner, Dec 18, 2015.

  1. I'm making this thread for other blades to come and list off all of their cars that they have owned in their lifetime. Also include the time span of each car.

I had a 1994 Oldsmobile Alero for less than a year in 2011.

    I now have a 2008 Pontiac G6 since November 2011.

  2. I have every car i ve owned still. When i was 16.5 (1/08) i got my dads 03 tdi (well we shared it and in 10 he gave it to me, still in his name though). In 8/13 i bought an 1995 325is shell, 5.0 swapped but have the motor+tranny back out but they ll prob be back in place by monday....i hope. 8/2014 i bought an 86 aw11 swapped in a jap 4agze+turbo'd it. 8/2015 i bought a 1985 w123 wagon which i slammed. I work at my dads oil company so he and i share a 2010 sierra 2500 hd ext cab duramax and a ford transit connect depending on what we are doing. I do more field stuff so i typically drive the truck. He doesnt care about cars ,has a 2016 a3 tdi but his wife drive it most of the time, so he drives the 2013 transit connect around most of the time because its better on gas and going to the grocery store and stuff.

  3. First car was a 2000 Hyundai Elantra was free put a new water pump on drove it a few months then tranny blew sold it for 500 bucks somehow lol

Then I got a 1987 Toyota celica loved the way it looked hated fwd

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1450555635.826837.jpg

Ended up trading the celica for a beat to shit 88' Mitsubishi starion which I only had for a week before selling to my cousin for a grand

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1450555792.287115.jpg

Then I was driving my dads extra car for while which was a 5speed 01' Corolla no pic needed lol

Then finally I bought the car I still have and love now
    1990 Mazda rx7 convertible
    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1450555971.586770.jpg

Dad sold the Corolla and bought the worst car I've ever owned or driven a 2003 ford crown Vic police interceptor which became myn when he passed
I subsequently parted it out got about 750$ off it total
No pic needed I'm sure on this forum we all unfortunately know what they look like!

Now I bought a new daily mostly for the wife a 2012 Nissan Altima ..here it is next to the rx7

    11. 2001 Toyota Tundra

    2. '94 Ford Taurus
    3. '00 Buick Century
    4. '00 GMC Sonoma SLS
    5. '95 Eagle Talon Tsi

  6. was it a buzzkill going from a 98 318 to a 94 taurus?

  7. I remember when the intercooled Starion's were introduced. I was really tempted to trade the '86 Supra (before they bloated the damned thing in the mid-year) I was driving at the time in order to get one of the Mitsus or the Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth equivalent...I was also looking at the Dodge Shelby CSX in that period (the Shelby-touched Dodge Shadow).

I wound up keeping the Supra until I bought my '90 LX 5.0 coupe...kept that for a decade.

There are MANY others before and after, but I really don't feel like putting that much info in public fora...it was a unique enough list that it wouldn't take much to figure out who I was if anyone was so inclined...

  8. 93' ford ranger, sold it after a year since it was a beater
03' dodge dakota, had it for 4-5 years now great truck, just use it for winter driving now.
95' Chevrolet camaro, bought it last summer just couldn't pass up the price. Currently stored for the winter months.

  9. Being completely honest here no haha. The 318 was a beater to say the least and the Taurus was clean AF. The 318 rode for shit and was literally falling apart. The Taurus was a "chiller" ride if you catch my drift. Ride nice, drove nice, generally just a solid car for me.

  10. Hey all,it's a long story but it goes something like this.

Got her for 500$ at age 16,didn't even have a license yet. Here's how I got it ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008429.537713.jpg instantly tinted the rear and was on my way to a blacked out Impala. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008453.346467.jpg

not even a week later my brother took it on a trip and the motor blew. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008022.942501.jpg

My father being a mechanic of 40 years helped me rip apart a donor car and did a complete front end swap. Here's the process. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008113.414109.jpg

All was good for awhile and until I blew my transmission. We sent it to the shop
To get fixed and once we got it, the transmission blew again a month later! Due to the garages fuck up it was changed and once again it blew (they wanted to charge us labor even though it was their guarantee to fix it, so the car sat for 3 months straight before the garage touched it) they fixed it and made sure it was hd after that.

Once again all good things come to an end and not even 3 months later an old lady hit me while I was merging into my lane! ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008382.456092.jpg

So once again it sat for 2 more months rotting until another donor was found. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008532.634155.jpg

Once all was fixed it was summer and she was ready to live again! Did all the body work myself and tinted my headlights/fog lights for the full blacked out look. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008709.282340.jpg

Shortly after I Found the total set of these bad boys for 200$ total! ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008776.605319.jpg

Fit like a glove and this is where it's at 2 years later. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1451008821.861072.jpg

  13. Lowering springs on the mustang??^^^
    Looks fantastic!

  14. Thanks yeah it is dropped about a inch half all the way around. I have a complete after market suspension that I am going to put on it when I am not being so lazy. The ride height will be about the same but the handling will be tons better.

  16. First vehicle was 79 Suburban. Thing was a beast in the mud, it fucking killed on gas though. And it didn't last too long anyway.
90 Nissan 300zx twin turbo, great car. I'd love to run across one like it for sale. Ended up totaling it in a wreck like a dumbass.
96 Chevy Lumina. Worst fucking car I've owned. It was a full time job keeping that thing running, I eventually ended up scrapping it.
2000 GMC Sonoma 2.2L, an alright little truck, but it had some suspension issues so I let it go.
96 Ford Ranger 3.0L. It was a great small pickup, but was destroyed.
01 Nissan Altima. Needed a car, it did the job.
97 Dodge Ram 2500, with a diesel engine. It was a great truck, good for hauling, good off-road, reliable, though apparently some people have tranny issues with them. I needed money, so I sold it.
I got my mom's old 76 F-150 after my grandparents died. It was junky and a gas sucker, but it held up well, it had nearly half a million miles on it when it was finally scrapped.
I've got an 04 Dodge Dakota now. I like it a lot, not too huge, but it has a backseat and is enough to pull my trailer.
I've had a handful of project cars as well, I used to love working on them. A 92 Camaro RS, a 97 Dodge Intrepid, just recently fixed 92 Ranger up a bit for my nephew for Christmas, it still needs a little work though.

I have a Honda Shadow VT600 too, and had a Kawasaki Ninja briefly as well.

I have memory issues and I've had a lot of vehicles so I really couldn't tell you when exactly I got and got rid of each one.

  17. .

Trade it for a real truck

  18. Umm no I think I'll keep it thanks

  19. Mostly trucks. Chevy trucks. My dad despised Ford. He called it the Fix-Or-Repair-Daily company. I have a Chevy Silverado myself. ;)

  20. I had a 97 Chevy Malibu and just bought a 98 Ford contour this morning. Not expensive but I'm young and pay for shit myself.
