210 at a local head shop, real or fake? http://postimg.org/image/qgz6lc7u3/ http://postimg.org/image/hvxq4d2up/ The mouthpiece looks good, the pipe is very heavy. The pipe does not have a signature or dot. 3 prongs for the ice catcher.
OMG you kids nowdays are so freakin trendy. I am an old coot. If I offered to smoke somebody out and they said "dude that roor is fake as shit you got ripped off", Then they get no weed from me. They will sit there and watch me smoke in front of them. But you kids do that shit nowdays anyway don't you?
It's amazing the amount of roor counterfeits out there. And the company is going about dealing with the problem in one of the most uncool ways, targeting the smoke shops that have been duped themselves rather than the actual producers of the fake pipes. They're old news, no longer in the business of making pipes, being more concerned with profiting off their losses.
if it smokes good who cares. as for the owner of a shop looking for info from you that you got from the internet....sounds legit son. how about having the owner call roor and ask some questions? you would get farther faster.
Of the shops I have done business with here in DE and in Baltimore, MD none of them deal directly with ROOR. When you look on ROOR's site there are no US partners so I am not following your response. The businesses I frequent rely heavily on distributors whom they have a number of and more often than not end up screwing them. For the record it doesn't smoke well LOL, but that wasn't the point of this thread. I just wanted confirmation it wasn't a ROOR so I could alert the head shop owner whom I have developed a relationship with so she would cease buying from X distributor.
You get what I'm saying. Have the owner who ever ordered it call the supplier and ask some questions. More then that it is a good idea to get the mfg involved because they would know more then any one else. Try the web site to get started
I was planning on buying a roor but unless i get it off their website i shouldn't. Who wants to spend hundreds for a fake. I may as well get a glass bong off ebay
No that is not a real roor. Not even close, roor has never made a single piece that even comes close to looking like that
Real or fake who cares. Roor glass isn't even thick usually and they just rip you off imo. All glass can break and I'd rather buy a piece with the same functionality for half the price or one with better functionality for the same price just without the roor nametag.
Have you ever owned a higher end bong? There is a huge difference. I have dropped a piece off a counter with no damage, and i have knocled a china piece over that was already sitting down on a carpet floor and have it shatter
People who purchase them care, the bong in the pics looks like a $40 piece, toss a roor logo on it and it could easily be sold for 140 even 240 to someone who doesnt know. It depends what label you get, different colors are different thicknesses. I could probably knock someone out with a green label beaker and the piece would be fine. I could spend just under $20,000 and make my car look like a lambo, and possibly sell it to a clueless person for $100,000+
If by higher end you mean expensive like $200 plus then nope. And don't plan to. 200 would probably be my limit. Thick ass glass makes very durable bongs that can probably take more abuse and cost less. Any bong *could* break. I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy more expensive pieces if you like them and it makes you happy. But to me personally I would prefer to spend less mostly so I don't 1 have to worry as much about dropping/ breaking it and 2 if I do I won't be as upset.
That really is a good point. But to be fair some people just want 'nice' stuff. Its like art or jewelry, maybe its just me but I have never dropped a bong. I have owned some for years, I just be careful with them and never had an issue, if they break they break. Glass can be replaced. Pieces I no longer want get donated to friends and pieces I am too lazy to maintain get tossed. My collection has been built over years and is highly respected. Looking forward too purchasing some good pieces in the future. Bucket list - -hollowfoot -mobius -mothership(probably going to be buying a knockoff fab egg soon) -own a signed chong, in a glass display case -syn beaker -a different mobius -Every single build-a-bong piece made...sublimator use only!!!! -beaker cheech with removable neck ....I'll just stop because i would buy everything for the right price.
No i don't mean 200 plus i mean higher end quality glass. I've seen shitty glass expensive and good glass cheap. Price has nothing to do with quality its who makes the piece.
I got a "roor" bong for £30 off of Dhgate, 100% counterfit but has a trademark R and rips like a beast, thick glass on main tube but not on the base which is meh, I sit on my carpet ripping bong so any bumps and scratches are majorly reduced compared to having on a ceramic table or some hardsurface u know what i mean Edit; I understand this doesnt fit properly with whats going on on the thread but yeah I thought I'd just share my bit
