There are a few ways to check. One thing that roor does is put their signature squiggle near the joint. And a somewhat more intense test is grabbing a blade and scrapping the RooR logo. Personally I have never bought a legit one, but I did the blade test on my fake one and it passed lol. But supposedly fake ones, their logos will flake.
