When to start flushing my Black Dominas in DWC? also *General Grow Update Week 4 Flowering*

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by DoomGuy, Dec 8, 2015.

  1. Breeder says 8-10 weeks, internet says 50-65 days. How will I know the plants only have one week left? I'm using most of Advanced Nutrients lineup with distilled water. I intend to use Final Phase by AN in the last week of flowering. This is my first hydro grow, its gone fairly smooth so far and I really don't want to flush to soon and disrupt anything. Today is day 29 of flowering, they are covered in curly white bud spots. When do they usually start to actually become buds? From what I understand in weeks 4&5 (depending on strain and plenty of other variables) they start to become far more dense and begin to 'budify', is this correct?
    Nute list:
    AN GMB 3ml/L
AN Bud Ignitor 2ml/L (Weeks 1-2 Flr.)
AN Voodoo Juice 2ml/L (weeks 1-4 veg, week 1 flr.)
    AN Bud Factor X 2ml/L
    AN Bud Candy 2ml/L
AN Sensizym 2ml/L (weeks 10&11 veg, all of flr.)
AN Big Bud 2ml/L (weeks 2-4 flr.)
AN SensiCal-Mag Xtra (here and there in veg, week 1 flr.)
AN Overdrive (Last 2 weeks flr.)
AN Final Phase flush(last week flr.)

    Details:
    -15 gal res. by sterlite
    -2x eco airpumps
    -2x Mars Hydro 180w ufo
    -mars hydro 300w
    -4x large airstones
    -5" net pots
    -hydroton
-Res. is on top of homemade bamboo risers and stays pretty cool
-Plants are mainlined to 8 tops Ive lost 2 tops out of 24 on 2/3 plants
-One Plant (Black Domina #1) had duct fan fall on it in veg. its been stringy since then. It got topped in weird places by the fan, all bud spots look scraggly and shwag like. It was fan-topped right before flowering and it took on a lot of stress and plenty of def. and issues. It will probably be a lot of sticky larf buds.
-Another plant (Black Domina #3) is short and stocky with dense with bud spots and 'crystalizing' leafs and 8 tops with miscellaneous branches and many long white tendrils barely turning golden brown at the ends.
-The last plant (Black Domina #2) is tall and tendril ridden. This ones leaves are also crystalizing. All 7 tops are towering over the other two BDs. I lopped one top off in early flowering as it turned yellow and began to burn also it would not grow in the stretch. I stand by my decision.

They had 11 weeks veg but were stunted by my various beginner mistakes, some of which are still present like mild nute burn and light root rot. I would post pics like I have before but I'm a little paranoid, is there anything to worry about? Does the DEA hunt through GC? Do they give a fuck about small time personal growers? I might post a photo update of my 3x cheese plants also in week 4 flr. two (15wk veg)have been mainlined to 8 tops and one (about 7wk.s veg) just left alone to grow normally(1 dom. cola) that looks pretty damn good.

Hey wassup man. Sounds like youre approx halfway through flower. I watch the trichomes...when I have to start looking for clear and most are cloudy I start the last week of feeding and add a ripener, and usually within a week later the amber trichomes have shown up, and I start a week flush.
Theres a lot of ways to finish em, this is just what I've done and stuck with.

  4. Thank you! I greatly appreciate the help!

  5. Well, if they're sifting through the GC network looking for a few plants... they haven't showed up at my door yet, lol...

In terms of flushing DWC, I just dropped plain PH 5.8 water in there for the last week or so before harvest. So, if you're growing an 8 week strain, and you're on week 4 of flower, then you got about three more to go. I also like to use a ripener just before flush. Looking at trichomes is a good indicator about when to chop, but doesn't do much for backwards planning...

  6. IMO you should flush with a flushing agent such as Florakleen or similar product. Run it for a few hours then replace with fresh plain water for the entire last week or so. This ensures a cleaner product. Good luck.
