This thread will hopefully serve a purpose for education, for both sides of the argument. This is not "Islamophobia 3.0", this is meant to have a proper, mature discussion about the threat of Islamic extremism and radicalization in the world and what we can do to combat it, both through education and possibly military intervention.

  2. The only way to end it is to kill the whole ideology and that requires boots on the ground. All country's need to work with Assad if he agrees a specific time to stand down.

Imo troops should vote as to wether they deploy or not as they will be doing the killing and dying, not the politicians.

  3. Oh look, here is one now

  4. education, education, education...

  5. I personally like the idea of having the public vote on whether or not to go to war, and if the vote wins, everyone who voted "yes" will be enlisted into the service of their choice, unless they are of significant age or disability. Also, I agree with boots on the ground. As much as I don't want to send people back into war, I don't think we should have pulled out the way we did. In terms of military intervention, it is a necessity to work with Russia in Syria. There is no other way around it. Working with the Kurds should be near the top of the list as well.

  6. In the US and Europe, there will continue to be attacks like we've seen recently in Paris and in California. In short, our own asinine policy of political correctness in the western world is being used against us by these assholes, and unless something changes the attacks will continue. See, we're all about not hurting one another's feelings these days. Last thing ya wanna do in the new amerika is offend someone. Especially a minority.

  7. Oh of Course Leave no child behind and uneducated

  8. good talk

  9. But seriously
How do we stop the Waring parties and make Peace ?

  10. The US has no place on the ground in either Iraq or Syria. Neither the Iraqi government or the Syrian government want the US on the ground.

Who would want their rapist around for dinner the day after?

Obama and his lap dog's in NATO need to keep their snouts out of it and let the Russians lead the charge on this.

So if the US was to pull out everyone from the middle east ,Do you really think that ISIS and a like will stop wanting to kill Americans and non Muslims

  12. Lets arm the rebelgroups and invade with groundtroops ... oh wait ... ~

  13. No. Your government has condemned the US to ongoing attacks for the foreseeable future. They have drawn these deranged fools (IS/al Qaeda) on you and until they are exterminated this will remain so.

Anytime the US invades/occupies a country it always goes wrong and backfires, we only have to look at every conflict since Vietnam on for proof of this.

The best thing the US could do is stop hindering the fight against IS/al Qaeda/Nusra and support both the Iraqi and Syrian governments in their war against these parasites. Stick to flying drones around the ME providing intel for Russia/Iran/Hezbollah/Kurds.

  14. My concern is that the Islamic extremism ball is just beginning to roll. What's a peace loving Muslim supposed to do these days. If they go Jihad they die, if they withdraw from Islam they die, if they complain about how violent their religion is they get 100 lashes then die. Anyone who speaks against Islamic violence is labeled Islamaphobe by our countries leaders no matter how mild their criticism. The only way this will ever stop is when the Muslims themselves decide it's time and they're not even considering it as a possibility because they think their actions are justified. Face it, the world is fucked on this one and it's going to get really interesting before it's over.

  15. How about if we offer up Bush, Cheney and company to the Hague to be tried as war criminals?

That might sway some folk's opinions about the US......

  16. Most likely not.

It seems as if perpetual war has became an ideology. The "War on Drugs", they aren't going after pharmaceuticals are they? New studies show over half of new drug addicts start on psychoactive pharmaceuticals. How's the "War on Terror" going? Even worse, and we're losing our liberties and privacies because of it

  18. The threat from extremists in the West is still in the grand scheme of things minimal. You still have a far higher chance of being killed on the road than you do by a deranged IS extremist.

We have seen a couple of high profile attacks of late but the numbers killed are insignificant compared to those that have lost their lives in car wrecks.

We tend to be all surprised, shocked and outraged when something that has been inflicted upon the ME for the last 30 odd years by the governments of the West happens in our backyard. As harsh as this may sound, we are in fact getting a dose of our own medicine when we are attacked.

Where does this shock and surprise come from? Are we that naive to believe that our governments warmongering will have no repercussions?

IMO to blame Islam for the actions of IS/al Qaeda is foolish and merely swallowing the propaganda that is fed to the masses in the West to cloak the real cause- Blowback.

To quote the wise Ron Paul-

'The best way to prevent terrorism is to change our policies, stop playing crusader, and stop picking sides in religious civil wars or any other civil wars. “Blowback” from our policies is not imaginary.'

  19. As thet have proved over many decades , you don't have to go into countries blasting to take over. Just slowly get your sleepers to start to populate and frighten people with there attacks of violence. There whole religion is about taking over and getting rid of the non believers

  20. NATO has ruled out sending ground troops to fight against Islamic State militants in Syria, NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg told a Swiss newspaper, stressing the need to bolster local forces in the conflict.

"That is not on the agenda of the coalition and the NATO allies," he told the Tages-Anzeiger paper when asked about dispatching ground forces to accompany air strikes.

"The United States has a limited number of special forces. In the foreground, however, is strengthening local forces. This is not easy, but it's the only option," he added

Stoltenberg stressed that the conflict was not a war between the West and the Islamic world, but rather against "extremism and terrorism".

"Muslims are on the front line in this war. Most victims are Muslims, and most of those who fight against the IS are Muslims. We can not carry on this struggle for them," he said.
