Hello Grasscity, My name is Erick My age 21 I love making HASH - Qwiso ! I'm going to start this post off with some crazy ideas for Quick Wash isopropyl (Qwiso) Hash/wax. If you know Qwiso already you know the steps consist of : Washing your frozen 91-99% alcohol for anywhere from 3-25 seconds depending on personal preferences in my opinion Filtering it 2-4x times through coffee filters Evaporating it off Scraping it ETC ! LETS GET TO MY IDEA !! I was thinking of washing a batch of nugs and filtering out the greenery . HERES THE TWIST! Then getting a new batch of nugs and washing it with the same alcohol I ran and filtered before the 2nd batch of nugs . Typically I'm thinking - you will put more thc into a smaller amount of ISO which in effect would give you a STRONGER hash / wax PLEASE I WANT INPUT IVE DONE TRIALS AND IM PRETTY SURE ITS ALOT STRONGER JUST WANT THOUGHTS
I heard of this process before... But was wondering about how Fast the evaporation took...? How much fluid is it ? Half a container ? or the whole bottle ? Actually this gave me the idea about "Clean up" Instead of wearing the rubber gloves during Harvest clipping... I just washed with Isopropyl Alcohol , then Soap & Water... No sticky , No Smell...
This process makes me think of how people are going to be RIPPING OFF buyers... Washed Buds with little or no THC... The Bag of Buds would "LOOK GOOD".... Yet void of a high...
Somehow you would need the Buds IN the solution "during the evaporation.".. Otherwise you just washed them...
Groot, the way I understand it, the longer the alcohol is in contact with the cannabis, the more of the plant nasty's leach out. Chlorophyll for one. Folk's correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for the recipe. If you've tried it and it works that's great.
Correct. Also goes for the intensity of the was as well. Better to swish it all around than to vigourously shake.
You are correct in that theory I was very gentle while I created a vortex swirl while I washed it a second time . The product has come out maybe my strongest yet ! Will be doing more experiments as far as double , triple washes ! Maybe some photos to show ya what I get .
That's exactly it , I was burning a fatty and I couldn't help think I wonder how to make dabs have an extra punch . In return of consuming the flower of life I was gifted a glob of wax .
An op to comment on your idea. I see no reason why it wouldnt work although there will come a point of diminishing returns where the alcohol just simply cannot absorb anymore thc. Finding this limit is trial and error obviously. Sounds interesting though, simple but ive never thought of it, will try it next time i do a wash.
Just a possibility, but couldn't the alcohol become saturated, so that it couldn't absorb all the goodies?
Exactly finding this will be interesting. You figure it would be a high volume . I'm going to do some molecule research in ISO . See if I can find the volume difference between thc and the ISO . This way I can determine the strength of a quarter of dank nugs wash then seem how much ISO content are left. Maybe I'm off by a lot but feel close !
ive been thinking and when i think about it this might only affect yield. The figures below are not accurate and are for argument purposes only: Lets say a standard iso extract is 99% thc and 1%bonding compounds. That 1% will always be there because its a necessity to the structural component for malleable tar/powder. So now instead of a standard wash we do 3 washes, same iso. That 1% will still be there due to necessity so the thc amount in a 1 gram pile would be the same from 1 wash compared to 3. But doing the 3 washes you might yield 3-5x more. I may be wrong but just a thought.
Seems to be a good prediction . One way to figure it out is to do some real medical testing . I'll do a regular run then a double ISO wash run and test the product for thc levels . Same strain same cuts from the plant same %Iso so I'll get back to everyone after and post a pretty big response
