CPS, Marijuana Drug Test, My Kids.

    A CPS case has been open due to allegations of marijuana use. I've been smoking since I was 14 but didn't start heavily smoking until 17. I'm 21 now with two kids, I use marijuana because I have depression and anxiety and I also have a really hard time eating if I don't smoke. It's literally the only thing that will get me to eat!! I'm very active with my children weather I'm high or not, I don't smoke around my kids whatsoever! My high never effects my relationship with my bundle of joys! And if anything I bond with them even more when I'm high. My thoughts are as positive as can be! So therefore, I am as peachy as can be when I'm stoned :) I was stupid and signed a medical record release form to the caseworker & I am very positive that they will see that I came up positive for marijuana in the urine sample I gave them when I was admitted to the hospital just a few days ago. So once they find out their gonna get a court order to drug test my boyfriend and I and idk which test their gonna do because of the fact I denied I smoked marijuana and refused to do a up front drug test (cotton swab) so any day now she will come back to drug test me and my boyfriend. I've read that mouth wash and hydrogen peroxide does the trick for a cotton swab test but idk exactly what steps to take in using that. So can someone please help me, because I feel that this case is petty as fuck because I take care of my kids & it does not make them high risk of getting abused or neglected in the future. I'm not those kind of mothers that are unbelievably out there. But someone please tell me how to pass a cotton swab test and a urine test. If it's a hair follicle test, I am so screwed!!! Or is there a way to pass that too?

    swabs have a low detection threshold around 5nG( thats nanograms) thc so stop smoking for 3-7 days before and you wont come hot for pot. Urin test ... my best advice for that is either Flush or have some one else piss that's clean in a cup freeze it and then go to your local Hardware/ sporting goods store and get those air-activated heat pads put two pairs of panties on keep the sample between the two pairs and stick the handwarmers on the front of the first pair. word of advice here you need to keep the sample between 98.0- 100 F if any colder/warmer you wil fail automaticly so buy a glass baby thermometer shake the liquid down to the bulb and read it after 2 min or when u dont see the liquid move anymore. if you need to pass secutriy at the CYS office and they want to pat you down tell them you have" Lady troubles" down there most men dont want to have any parts with that

    How they do things will depend on the procedures for your state. When I worked for Cps the state I was in would test everyone in the house if drugs were suspected.

    Court ordered test were almost always a urine test. Since you declined to give them a sample they will most likely just get a court order.

    All court ordered urine test were also observed test. Unless you can pass it or dilute you are screwed. Be advised that if you do attempt to substitute or add adulterants to the sample and get caught it may be an additional felony charge. Saw a guy try to do the old buddy's urine in a condom trick but it ended up busting or leaking in his pants in the waiting room. He went straight to jail.

    There aren't many instances where I would advise honesty within the legal system but this may be one of them. It's crazy exactly how much power Child service agencies have over parents. Piss them off, get caught lying, or cheat and they can and will take your kids for a year in the blink of an eye.

    Also if you have not done so already and have the ability seek legal council as soon as possible. No idea why they would be visiting you to start with and that's not something you need to be posting here anyway. Anything major and a lawyer is a must in my opinion, they have teams of them for good reasons.

    I'm sorry you're in this situation. It all comes down to priorities. As much as I love MJ, the care and safety of my children came first and there were several times throughout the years when I had to stop smoking for various reasons. I didn't like it. I didn't want to stop. But I had to make an adult choice for the benefit of my WHOLE family....not just me. I'm sorry, but knowing how CPS works and all the problems that come with having your name brought up before them, I just can't understand why you would even take the chance. I'm afraid you've opened a can of worms here that you won't be able to close up soon. It's likely that your children will have to pay for a selfish choice you and your boyfriend made and your unwillingness to admit to yourselves that continuing to use MJ will get you caught in this situation. It doesn't matter how great a mother you are...and I have no doubt that you are, you'll be made out to be scum of the earth by them. They will try to frame you as lazy and sorry and not willing to put your children first. I know of no way to get around the hospital. They have any test they see fit to order right at their fingertips so trying to get around it by flushing or subbing is kind of pointless. I think your best option is just to be honest with them and deal with the consequences. You could've quit 3 or 4 months ago, got through this and then went back to what you were doing before and nobody would've been the wiser. Good luck and I hope things work out for you. Be smart. Do what you have to do to get through this and don't make this silly mistake again. TWW

    Yes obviously we will stop for our kids so I don't know where you got this selfish thing from? Also this case hasn't been open for 4 months either so I don't know where you got the idea that we should've stopped 4 months ago as if we somehow knew this was going to happen right now lol. Also maybe you should read there policies and the law regarding when they can take your children.. I was looking for advice on passing a test by someone knowledgable, not judgement by someone who thinks CPS can just take your kids after a failed test. Anyway, thanks for the best of wishes.

    Having been "on the inside" I can tell you that some of the case workers will get straight up vindictive. I remember walking in one day and a case worker was screaming and throwing stuff around her cubicle. She was screaming "Im going to get that SOB". Turns out she had a case where she "knew" that the parents were doing drugs. Both parent passed their drug test, been accused of cheating the drug test and made to take a second one, and passed it as well. The case worker actually stated that if she couldn't get them on drugs she would find another reason to take the kids. Like I said, they get freaking crazy.


    I dont want it to sound like everything they do is horrible. Some of the workers are not like that at all and much of the work they do is awesome. There really is a need for cps agencies. It is just like any other government agency with control over something, they all want to overstep their bounds.
