Hello guys, i have a problem with my first grow...[IMG]
First it had thripes attack which i got rid of, but now leaves started turning yellow/brownish from the bottom up as you can see on pictures... Which makes me think its Nitrogen deficiency... I think its not due to low Ph since ive been watering it with 1 day stale tap water which i checked has like Ph of 7.5-8...
I already ordered nitrogen fertilizer for it, but it will arrive in 1 and a half days now and im afraid if it will be too late.
But now, brown edges started spreading to upper leaves which looks like nutrient burn, tho i never used any nutrients. Maybe the soil is bad? Beneath the soil is sand and rocks for better drainage, is that maybe the problem? Also i flushed it with destiled water and checked Ph of run off water its around Ph7.5...

Can you help me confirm if its the nitrogen deficiency problem or something else?
The plant is 1 month old, ive been using soil in one of the pictures with Ph 7. Been using 2x23W CFLs (18-6) but today have upgraded to 4x23w CFLs, until i replace all of them with 40W ones. No nutrients used.
I can get better pictures if needed. Thank you.

  2. Soil plants thrive with a pH level of 6.3 - 6.8....

</center>You think too high Ph is doing all this? Ill go buy other soil then first thing in the morning.
Should i transplate it then into another soil? If so, how should i do it, should i remove all the current soil from its roots and put it into new soil or get the roots out with the soil and put it all together into new soil like normal transplanting?

Will it be too stressfull for the plant and does it have chances of surviving? :/

  4. Ok, so i did some (a lot of) research, and found out i can try get it out and wash off the current soil off its roots, i just need to be extra carefull and not force it so i dont damage the roots, and then put it into a new soil.

I have only this plant and 3 more seeds, so i dont have many chances to start over if this one dies...:( Esspecially if we take into account that 50% will be males... Thats why ill do everything to try keep it alive.

If anyone has some tips, ill be greatfull if you post them. Wish me luck.

So i pulled the plant out of old soil, washed the soil off its roots, and put it into another soil that is recommended and used by other growers with Ph 5.5-6.5 so its 100% good. Also, i watered it with destilled water.

I did that yesterday, and dont see improvment on the plant, the dry edges continue to spread...:/ Will it need some time until it starts to recover and should i only wait now, or should i do something else?

Dont worry about streching, that happened in first week because the plant wasnt on direct sunlight so it stretched a bit, after that i reposinioned it and it stoped, and 2 weeks after i started growing it indors with 2x23WCFLs. 2 days ago have upgraded to 4x20W CFLs.

Soil is florabella potting soil http://georgikosoikos.com/en/soils/florabella-pott...
    See attachment for specifics.
Thats why i watered it with distilled water, since its Ph7, it should bring the soil Ph closer to 7 right? My tap water is almost Ph 8, so i guess distilled is better? I was using soil with Ph 7 and tap water with Ph 8 so the Ph of drained water was 7.5... Now i put it in soil 5,5-6,5 and using distilled water with Ph7... BUt the problem persists... I also bought some fertilizer, should i use it? http://www.everris.com/Home/Specialty-Agriculture/...

P.S. I checked the run off destilled water from pot and it has Ph6. Should i maybe use tap water since it has Ph of 8 to bring the Ph up? And should i maybe put a lots of distilled or tap water to completly wash the soil and bring the Ph up?

  8. No, and I would transplant out of the flora Bella if I were you. I don't see an NPK ratio on the fertilizer so I would stay away as well. But you need to just go to your local hydroponic store or nursery and by either a premixed soil like happy frog soil. Which is what I use. Or make your own soil mix. Either way you won't need to add any nutes for at least a month with a good soil. I'm gunna look more into the soil you're using real quick and see something.

Thank you for your help. Fertilizer is 23-10-10

And i checked the run off destilled water from pot and it has Ph6.
The problem is, i live in Europe and i dont really have those soils you guys use in USA.
But what should i mix then, the last one (Ph 7) and this one (Ph 5,5-6.5) which i curently use? So that i get something in between?

  11. I already transplated it from bad soil to the one thats recomended by growers in my part of world, so i didnt want to stress the plant even more by trasnplating it to another soil. So i just washed the whole soil in pot with tap water so the roots get the hang of it easier and hoped for the best.

Good news! [IMG] Dry leaves stoped spreading and 2 days after, here is how the plant looks like with new leaves! Thank you for your help yall!
