Hello all my fellow weed lovers! After a horrible FAILED attempt at growing I finally managed to get my little girls to sprout! I have four Trainwreak and one really, really, really smelly Holy Grail 69 which I received for free from Herbies. I didn't realize some plants could start to reek before they flowered and this little girl is only 2 and a half weeks old and boy does she STINK. So to mask the smell I bought Ona Gel: http://www.amazon.com/gal-Breeze-Dispenser-Neutral... to cover the scent. It works extremely well. I smell absolutely nothing and neither can my friends. Even my cat's stinky pee-pee filled litter box smell has been wiped away! I went ahead and placed a few tablespoons of gel all over my house. I'm not sure if it will continue to mask the smell when my girls enter their flowering state (might have to get a carbon filter eventually) but as of now it's perfect. I really recommend the product! However, I've read not to place Ona Gel inside of the grow room (or in my case grow closet) because it can bind to the plants causing them to produce nasty tasting buds. Since I'm growing in a closet in my bedroom I decided to put three tablespoon of the gel on my dresser. It's far away from my closet which is partially open to fit in the A/C ventilation (I actually used dryer ducting to re-route the A/C from my bathroom and bedroom to the closet, I also have black fabric hanging over the door, lined on the inside with mylar. The only time I fully open the area is when I'm feeding them or checking the temp. Therefore I think they are safe from the smell since they aren't sharing the air. Well that ends my ramble, I just wanted to mention this product if anyone needs to mask smells, but don't yet have to dollars to buy a carbon filter (like me!). I have a few pictures of my little set-up and if anyone has any other tips (anything at all) please let me know!
I tried this ona gel stuff out and let me tell you, it doesnt work. I put a bucket of it next to my shitter and to my suprise....still smells like shit. Lol
If u want to mask scents, go to a cigar shop and tell them u are making a small smoking room and ask what sprays or candles they have. Masking used for living spaces, Ona I use in my room but not inside the tent, that is the carbon filters job.
