Join a modern traveling hippy commune

Discussion in 'The Great Outdoors' started by thestoryofhilly, Aug 13, 2015.

  1. Hi.
Our names are Andrei and Hilly and we have been on the road as travelers and activists for half a year.
After going to school at Kent State University for a few years, we sold all our stuff and hit the road.
We are currently located (for the time being) in colorado springs, colorado. We livw out of a ford explorer with our two fur babies; Craig and Lacie.
(not to sound cliche but...) We are on a search for self discovery.
Along our route we stop to take in any breath taking wildlife we can.
We also work when needed to.
We started our journey in Ohio on our own.
Now we are reaching out to the hippy community to find other like minded people that would like to join a modern traveling hippy commune. Like straight outta the 60s. Eden express type stuff.
We are really serious about this. We want to create a safe and tight knit family that helps out one another and want to help be the changes we wanna see in the world.
It would be hard work but the experience would be beyond worth it.
The idea itself can be scary, and yes the actual act of leaving your home to hit the road will be scary. We went through it. But you wont believe how easy it actually is once you get started. We have got to camp in so many beautiful natural forrest and see so much of what this country has to offer. Sound like something for you? :)
If you are really serious about this and I mean Matrix serious, shoot me an email @ thestoryofhilly@gmail.com

  2. I would be interested, but I'm way over in BC Canada.
    Come visit, it's beyond beautiful

  3. Have you thought of just traveling from festival to festival? Me and my friends want to set up a 24 hr shop at them all and just take turns of who is in charge. Just sell everything festival related.

  4. Once I get out of school I'd sooo be down. I'm traveling out to wahsington next fall to get certified is survival and pernaculture! But this is definitely an option afterwards!!

  5. Festivals can get pretty pricey. This is more of a lifestyle change than just a vacation

  6. I'd love to join the two of you if I had the money and a license to drive. I currently have neither one.

  7. I would, but me and communes just don't get along ...

  9. hi,
glad to see you posting here! great ideas actually. I been on the road in a ford explorer since last Feb!
no dogs though...i love everyone else's dogs now. let's meet up sometime and maybe share some bud, ideas, and some hugs. Currently would like to band together with someone NOT employed by the mob, and venture up to the western slope for the ski season with a group trailer rigged for sleeping. too wierd? yup, that's a dreaM. MY DREAM.

How much money would you say you two spend on this lifestyle?

  19. Kent State? I'm assuming you know what happened there during the last hippie movement, not that it's relevant to today, but it's not a name that comes up often.
