Well, you really only need to have it a little higher than the holes in the basket. A good root system and thick stalk will displace some of that area. If you pack em in there, they'll just be spilling out as the plant matures and takes up that space. Not a problem. Just a pain picking up all them little balls...
*5" diameter is 12.5cm. *we divide by 2 to find the radius. *so it has a radius of 6.25cm. *Ï€ x 6.25 x 6.25 = 123 *So it will have a surface area of 123cm2. *We multiply this by the height to find the volume. (Ill guess and say 12cm). *123x12 =1476 *So that is 1476cm3. *Or 1.476 litres (1cm3 = 1ml) *We round this up to 1.5 litres each. *This multiply by the 6 pots equals 9 litres
