Can NYC Diesel grow outdoors and mature in time in upstate NY?

  1. I have some clones of nyc diesel that I got from a friend and he's telling me they will mature in time where I live in (Upstate NY, catskill mountains) in time before it get's too cold. Is he telling me the truth? I know it's a sativa dominant plant and has a long flowering period. Can anyone tell me if I should even attempt to put them outdoors in my climate zone. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

  2. Hey 007, do you know if they are by Soma Seeds?  Soma Seeds NYC diesel has a 10-12 week flowering time so that is going to be a little long for your climate.  If those are the only type you have available I would still grow them though. Lots of people grow bag seeds and they dont know anything about the plants genetics but still get some good bud at the end of the year if they put in the work.  You should get them planted as soon as possible to give them as much time as possible.  Just let them go as long as the weather is still good.  Once you start to notice mold as the buds thicken up, its time to cut.  Just make sure you cut them before you get a frost.

  3. That's not a great strain for our area brother, NYCD has taken me a good 12 weeks to finish flowering before indoors.  The same outside - you're lookin at late October-ish which is risking our first frost.  Look for strains that are 45-55 days flowering, I'm running Cheese Candy as my insurance strain this year outside - great mold resistance and a big yielder too.  What are you, 42N?  You should be able to push it to mid October if you're lucky, the NYCD would be a risky strain to run.
