How many have been nearly in tears cuttin so many leaves. 6.5 hours just for 4 an I nearly slipped into depression.
I find it relaxing and love the whole process, maybe if I had 25 plants to look after I'd get a little bored but I don't mind trimming a few plants every couple months.
Lol yeah the longer you grow the more harvest time becomes a love hate relationship. I have learned dry trimming is less frustrating to me. Just pull off fans and hang to dry. Once dry trim each nug individually. makes it seem less daunting. And do this over a set of dry screens and you will catch the holy grail of trichome heads. The ones that would have otherwise been lost to the floor, clothes, etc. But yeah I hate trimming as well. And I process about a lb. every 30 days on my own. That is dry and trimmed weight. Lots of work plus I run my own construction company. Sucks, sucks, sucks.
I hate it. My gf does not however. This October is going to be a bitch. we are expecting around 12 lb. That is going to be very annoying couple days lmao.
Whole night felt like leaves. Day at work. Kept comin. Mate was laughing sayin it's funny how was quick with fan leaves an looked suicidal with the smaller ones. Love it when they're done but total pain Goin plant after plant, leaf after leaf.
i dont know ill find out tomorrow though! i was trimming a few fan leaves and big under leaf coverage today and i accidentally clipped off an underbud so i trimmed it up real quick and hung it in my closet. lol hopefully it will be dry a day ahead. i figure ill enjoy it this time as its my first harvest but doubt ill like it as i continue.
*raises hand* its cool the first couple harvests, very exciting! Then it becomes more like a job, a tedious job.
Thought that too from eye but used a scope. Never went for Amber trichs. Just milky for a head high. Had a time constraint too. Pain in the ass but u do what u do
I remember going to my aunts to visit and she had fresh cut plants. I asked her if I could help trim and she was really surprised. Now I understand. Lol Though that day of trimming caused me to want to grow my own. I'll never forget the first time she showed me her garden. Pretty sure my face looked like a kid at Christmas.
Trimming is a love/hate relationship. Some varieties are actually not too bad but then there are others that are very leafy and totally suck to trim. Trimming is one of the reasons that I switched to a perpetual garden instead of flowering an entire room at the same time. What I personally do is to keep a separate veg room, a room that I do all of my cloning in, keep my mother plants and veg my plants in. I keep a constant supply of clones going and an assortment of different age/sized females in. Today, for example, I have 1 plant ready to get trimmed. As soon as I remove the mature plant I replace it with the biggest/best/healthiest plant out of the veg area. I usually keep anywhere from 6-10 plants in the flower room under 2,000 watts of HPS lighting so am able to take 1 mature plant down every week-10 days. Trimming always ends up happening on my one day off so I'll be damned if I have to trim an entire room - it just doesn't work for me anymore. Trimming 1 isn't bad but an entire room can totally suck ass. my .02 cents. j
^ this. I did full rooms twice in my life and never again. Harvesting a whole room in a short period of time is the worst. !2 lb. at once would suck.
I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it I have to sort this out in 2 weeks. It'll be about a pound, well over 100 small colas, and will take me 3 days. It's a total nightmare. I watch films while I'm doing it to try and zone out but it's just so dam tedious
