Mad Max: Fury Road

  1. Watched this movie last night and it was pretty good. Not as savage and crazy as I expected though. A lot of bad ass stuff don't get me wrong, but not really any brutal deaths or any thing like that. I'd give it most likely a solid 6.5/10. In comparison to this being a 6.5 I'd put Avengers: Age of Ultron at a 7.5-8/10.

There is a guitar dude in it that made it worth while. Nuff' said without spoiling anything, hes not important to the film though. Just a badass extra.

This movie has crazy high reviews. I haven't seen it yet, so I might not know what I am talking about, but it seems like violence for the sake of violence. And it looks just like Borderlands. I would rather play that instead.

I would recommend Ex Machina instead. It is a real thinker.

    i might go today

i really wanna see pitch perfect 2 tho lol i loved the first one

  4. I think this movie looks pretty exciting. Plus Charlize Theron is always fun to watch.

  5. I said the exact same thing, looks exactly like a borderlands movie. And it sort of is. But honesly there isnt much violence.. well there is but nothing from what you'd expect from the ratings and trailers.

  6. shit was bad ass

theres so much happening in those car chase scenes its fuckin nuts lol

  7. Whenever I hear "oh what a day! What a lovely day!" All I can think of is the borderlands guy that says: "strip the flesh, salt the wound!" Because it is the exact same voice. Soooo Borderlnds. Are they looking for a vault?

  8. Not a vault, I'm sure you could google it if you wanna know. Don't want any spoilers for the other people viewing the thread!

  9. I enjoyed it, but the hype was a little ridiculous.  It's the third best Mad Max movie in my opinion.

  10. This movie kicked fucking ass

  11. The fucking lame avengers will never be on my dog max's level

  12. I wish Max got to do cool stuff onscreen. Also. HIS FUCKING CAR GOT DESTROYED ;;__;;

Bad ass movie though, I think it's WAY better than the avengers movie though. I got to see crazy brutal violence and super cool car chases with hot rod cars and semi trucks!

Bringing up an old thread because I just recently saw Fury Road

I watched the first three before hand, I'd seen a lot of Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome but I'd never sat down and actually watched the whole movies, never saw the first one at all.

The first one was boring as shit. Road Warrior was decent. Beyond Thunderdome was like watching the 80's take a shit all over itself. It was more entertaining than the first one but I spent way too much time going "seriously wtf"
Fury Road had me entertained as fuck from beginning to end.

You say it's the third best, I'm assuming Road Warrior is first, I'm curious what comes in second place? [IMG]

  15. Saw it yesterday, I'd say that it delivered the goods. The motor vehicles were as important as the actors, stunt men/women, EFX peope, etc.. Good action film.

Now, as for the star, Tom Hardy, he is fine but not similar to Mel Gibson. I thought Hardy was channeling Sylvester Stallone, an actor who was not associated with previous Mad Max movies. Hardy's performance seemed to be very influenced by Stallone's mannerisms, facial expressions and way of speaking (but with a different accent). Whether he was consciously doing it or not, is anybody's guess. Did anybody else notice this? Nobody seems to have brought it up, here or elsewhere.

  16. Ok movie, still like 2 and 3 better.

  17. I've been a Road Warrior fan for a long time and couldn't wait to see Fury Road, especially since it got such great reviews.

I have to say I was a little disappointed. For one thing, it should have been called Imperator Furiosa w/ special guest Mad Max.

There was very little story. Just enough for you to understand who was doing what and why, but that's it. It was a long chase scene, which isn't a bad thing, but I guess I just anticipated more.

I'm glad I saw it but I expected more after such a long time since the last installment. And the great reviews it got.

I have not seen yet. Thanks for reminding me. I will see it today or tomorrow.

  19. the movie was kinda boring. i loved the other 2, but i don't know this one just didn't do it. i basically feel exactly the same way as @Buffalo Beano. the game that got released along side the movie was also fairly sub par.

  20. I say I, II, IV, III

You say the first was boring and you really liked Fury Road, I'm assuming you don't care much for plot and just enjoy a bunch of mindless action. The first movie was more of an action thriller, while the second one went fore more action. It still managed to have more plot than Fury Road, and Max was terrible in Fury Road. He was like a co-star.
