Been listening to a fuck ton of Electric Wizard and Bongzilla recently. What are yall favorite Stoner/Sluge Metal bands?
I've never heard of either band, but I love metal so I'll be sure to check them out. I saw the Deftones and Alice in Chains one time and Mastodon opened for them. I believe that some people classify Mastodon as stoner metal but I'm not sure. I'm not up on all of the classifications. Haha.

I love High On Fire, saw them once. Also dig the earlier band Sleep, very sludgy. I really like Queens of the Stone Age though they're more like stoner rock. Sleep kicks ass, Sleeps Holy Mountain and Dopesmoker are both amazing. I'll have to listen to High on Fire and QOTSA aren't really for me. Stoner Metal is some of the best metal.
Definitely check out the HOF album Snakes For the Divine It's a perfect record, in my opinion. The cover artwork is the best I've seen in some time. I have it on vinyl, it looks pretty classic.
Saw the Wiz on 4/20 (like I said in the metal thread). It was sick. Smoked a ton of blunts (sadly my tolerance is pretty high, so I didn't get super baked ) Some other good Stoner bands are: Sleep Bongripper Kyuss Orange Goblin Spiritual Beggars

This is my first post ever on grasscity Electric Wizard is very Sabbath like except heavier on a sonic level not that it's a problem Down and Crowbar also really good. YOB a very good doom/sludge metal Fu Manchu is also in the stoner rock genre. Mastodon fans check out a band named Bison B.C. you will not be disappointed. To 420blazeyoloswag If you like Bongzilla if you haven't already check out Weedeater.
I came across the stoner rock/metal genre about a year ago. Since then I've been introduced to so many great bands I never would've heard of otherwise. A few of my favorites are TruckFighters, ASG, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Okay I have never heard of stoner metal... If you had to give me the name of one band/one song what would it be (to introduce me)? I listen to progressive rock/metal if that helps.
