Test Grows, Plant Training & Perpetual Harvests by hddani; DWC, COCO, SOG, LED, Iron's Method

Training methods used; LST, supercrop, topping, leaf tucking, lollipop-ing, colloidal silver spray

50/50 coco/perlite hempy buckets, DWC, Irons method

 

GERMINATION

Below is my preferred method for germinating seeds, a lot of different methods work though. I have good results with root plugs in 2 clear cups taped together. I place it on anything warm, xbox, cable box, on top of the LEDs has worked too haha



Now I put every plug in a 2" net pot for stability

FABRIC POT "HEMPY BUCKET"

I've had great success with the following method to mimic a hempy bucket aka passive hydroponics with a fabric container.



This is a 7 gallon fabric pot with a 12" runoff tray inside

Filled with rocks or hydroton

Then I put a layer if this coco liner stuff so the coco coir and perlite don't mix into the rocks. Roots grow right through this stuff

50/50 coco perlite the rest of the way.
I leave about an inch for the plant to grow a bit then I backfill with more hydroton. It seems to help the top layer of coco from drying out as unevenly as the rest.

Just took the tape off to have a look, I peeked at each one and two are for sure hatched. I can clearly see the taproots poking out of the shell and already burrowing into the plug.
I forgot how exciting this is.

Yea those 2 little dvd containers taped together are being used ALOT. I wish I'd recycled more of them in the past.
I totally agree with what you say, sometimes fresh eyes on a stalled project can breathe new life into it.

LOL the 6th one I gave up on, left it in there and threw it in a box the 31st. I put the other 5 in fabric pot/hempy bucket style based on an idea online. They'll be fed GH floranova grow, then bloom when they flower.
Yesterday, I unpacked the cloner thing to get it ready when the good genetics from royal queen seeds arrive, I check on the plug, and the bean is sprouted!
6/6 100% germinated awesome

Bag seeds at about 1 1/2 weeks old
They've been fed twice in that amount of time, once about 180ppm then 300ppm on Saturday, they haven't needed a watering since.
They look small, they're only getting about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight right now.
2 started looking funky right away, but they're hanging in. Still haven't received my order from RQS 😭

Avoid Royal Queen Seeds if you can. Gf placed an order there in mid-December for a xmas gift, eta was mid-January. They were snatched by customs, she received a call from them informing her of a new shipment with extra beans for the inconvenience new eta Feb 9th. She called yesterday and they have no record of the 2nd shipment, they immediately offered to re-ship but we asked for a refund instead. $102 w/ shipping for 3 x White Widow autoflowering and 3 x Northern Lights photos!!!
I headed over to The Vault and got the exact same beans from RQS, but also another pack from "Low Ryder" or something like that with a free bean for a grand total of $110 and shipping. With the freebies its DOUBLE the beans for $8 more. I was so ecstatic after ordering that Jack offered me a free shirt, which he said will be in the mail tomorrow. Incredible customer service! Can't wait to get the seeds I am so excited! Heres what I am getting: 
3 White Widow autoflowering, 3 Northern Light autoflowering, 3 Lowryder Mix Autoflowering, FREE = 1 Special Kush#1 Feminised, 1 Special Queen #1 Feminised, and 1 Chronic Ryder Autoflowering (I 'upgraded' from NL photos to auto, there is no way to get auto beans in California but I can get NL photo clones anywere)
 
The 6 bag seeds were watered yesterday, day 16 for most I believe. Its about 2 waterings a week right now. They're going slow with only 4 hours of direct light but I'm in no rush with these.
 
Also ordered a 4x2x5 tent for the closet, going to be kicking off dwc as soon as that's setup and the good beans arrive. May the weed gods smile on me

 

Bagseeds day 21, 3 weeks
They're small for their age I think so over the long weekend I was rotating them under the LED during daylight hours, but after they got the direct sun. Each got more time under the LED every day than their normal daily direct sunlight, Im sure they appreciated it.
I think I'm going to skip the diy greenhouse. It was originally to house maybe 4 plants in February/March but I'm at latitude 34degrees, its already warm. 6/6 bagseeds hatched I was expecting a 50/50 or 3 then pray for 1 female, I hope for 3 now. Then my seeds got delayed so I got lazy.
Seeds & tent should be here this week.
