Taken day before yesterday I believe. This is after ~1/8th strength ironhead method. Topped off today and its 1/2 strength til Friday then bump to full strength nutes and LED There are pistils on all branches now, so Friday I'll also pick a side branch, tag it, and begin spraying it with "bio silver" 50ppm cs spray daily. Anyone know about breeding and F1 F2 stuff? My basic understanding tells me to pollinate a different auto strain, F1 AxT x F1 AxT = F2 AxT less hybrid vigor?
Hey hddani I've been experimenting with branch pollination for combo seed strains. Got some from sappy PE, but only 1 popped and the other refused to, had to pull it at week 7. Started to grow leather leaves and nanners the smoke is ok can taste the notes of PE and purple but was not mature. Then I did blueberry and g13 and only pollinated 3 branches on each with different strains, but carefully brushed them on a week before last time. Got some seeds, and am testing now with current grow. The blueberry/blue dream seems stable and is growing normally. The blueberry/g13 on the other hand is a difficult one. It's growing slow and awkward. Leaves are now a super dark forest green. No yellowing. Very bushy. White hairs coming out like its week 5. Found couple nanners and removed them. It is adding weight now and lots of clear sugar developing. Smells weird. I have not grown auto yet, I hear they are great, potent and many growers prefer them. Mine take so long, but worth the wait. I would like to give autos a try any particular strains you suggest? and from where? I'll check it out. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately you won't get the desired cross from one pollination between 2 plants. My understanding of breeding is you keep mating offspring seeds of the male and female til the desired trait is dominant in most plants from a batch of seeds. Takes a couple generations depending on your genetics but if they're herming on accident it might not be worth breeding ya know? Good job on makin your own seeds though!! Thanks capt. Murphy. And I agree my hopes were high that it may be that simple, but in reality I'm finding that it's a crapshoot on stability. Usually I save a nanner or two if I find them from healthy stable grows at harvest, but not early in flowering. Sometimes I get a 1 or 2 seeds with no pollination attempt. Those grow great every time.
True that bro! Self pollinated is almost guaranteed fem...sometimes hermie from the start. As long as the buds good that's what counts and nothing wrong with having some backups in case you really like the strain Sent from my LGL22C using Tapatalk
That's exactly how I feel. As long as the bud tastes good, burns well and delivers that is what counts for me.

Yea these autos just grow themselves really, then DWC makes it cruise control. I lagged a res change like 1/2 week, but the plant don't care she looks like she could use a tad of CalMag, I realized I skipped the Epsom salt feeding. Currently at full strength nutes (minus Epsom salt), LED at 300W, and CS spraying has commenced on 1 entire branch.
