Purple stem on Blue Blood

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by supergroomer, Oct 8, 2014.

  1. Hey all.

I am currently growing a Blue Blood and a Train Wreck (see grow journal) . They are about 1 1/2 weeks old. This AM I noticed the top 1/2" of the Blue Blood had a purple hue to the stem. The Train Wreck does not. I am using organic soil from my compost pile with no nutes yet. I am trying to be very cautious because I had a slight bit of nute burn on my last plants.

I have read that the purple could be strain related, or potassium or magnesium deficiency. Should I start adding a small amount of FF grow big or should I wait a little longer. I really want this plant to turn out well because I am hoping the high CBD will help my MS.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.  I will try to post a picture later.  I didn't have my phone with me this AM.  There is a pic from a couple of days ago (pre-purple) in the grow journal.  Now it is just the top 1/2" of the one seedling that is purpleish.

I will play it safe and use the watch asn see approach.

    Thanks again.
