Expectation Of The Third Hobbit

Discussion in 'Movies' started by misterwolf999, Sep 19, 2014.

  1. when the first hobbit i saw it in theaters. all 3d and double frame rate per second. it did the impossible and made me think is this better than the lord of the rings? had awesome action scene nice dialogues and even  a hint of sauron plot. but then the second came out and there was just nothing to it.  the dragon scene was disappointing. i remember when i read the book the hobbit. the dragon was awesome. they like told bilbo oh dont feel bad about being outwitted dragons are very clever. anyway what peter jackson does is trilogies. when ever people asked me which of the three lord of the rings movies i liked best i always said its one 12 hours movie. so maybe the hobbit too is is one 12 hours movie and it will come together. haven't watched the trailer for the batlle of the five armies cause i dont watch trailers for movies that might be good. maybe there is a battle to rival that of the third lord of the rings. wouldn't that be something. and i wonder of the ending. would he do the same ending that never ends thing. could be nice

  2. I don't understand why they had to make it a trilogy like LOTR when the Hobbit is shorter than any of the 3 LOTR books.

I think one really good 2.5 - 3 hour hobbit movie would have been much better than this drawn out trilogy. And why the hell was Legolas in the movie? I don't remember his name ever being mentioned in the book but somehow he's a main character in the second movie lol.

  4. if they wanted to make money, why wouldn't they start with the birth of arda? imagine how many movies could be made from the stories of the silmarillion. epic movies that could stand alone from the series.. i don't know. wouldn't trust the movie companies to do it justice anyway.

  5. I think the CGI has been pretty bad in the first two. Worse than in the LotR trilogy.

  6. Peter Jackson is a sell-out and a pussy. The latest Hobbit film will be just as shit as its two predecessors. I'm surprised they even bother using actors anymore, seeing as how ol' Pete is cool with making the whole movie on a computer.

Legolas is mentioned in passing as the "Prince in Mirkwood", but he's never mentioned by name. And he's certainly not an active character in The Hobbit. Tolkien hadn't even specifically invented him yet. And I'm extremely disappointed in Peter Jackson. It's like he's totally lost his mojo as a filmmaker. The Hobbit films have none of the warmth or soul of the rings films.

  8.
i think that's mainly because there's so much computer animated shit..sure LOTR has its fair share but damn..The Hobbit might as well be a cartoon.

  9. I'll see the third one with a small hope it might actually be good. I didn't much care for the first two for reasons everyone else has pointed out. Give me the extended LotR any day.

  10. I seen the first and second hobbit movies in the theatre. I thought they were both good movies, y'all are just some haters!

  11. I agree. Who the f*ck is everyone to complain about such greatness? We got people on these boards ain't got a first clue as to how-to make a great movie.

Ungrateful, nasty assholes ruin better chances for more greatness from all who made these films possible.

If your a true fan, then All the Hobbits were solid.
-Lord of the Rings is Lord of the Rings
-The Hobbit is The Hobbit NOT Lord of the Rings.

  12. So a "true fan" is somebody that accepts everything as a masterpiece regardless of the actual quality of the product? Okay then.

Thought it was cool to see Mr Smith aka Lord Elrond take on the ghouls. :p
Too much CGI and the plot of the 1st movie - dragon - is so different than that of the 3rd - 5 armies. LOTR was easy to follow and was one epic storyline.
Also, everyone seems to die! Lord Of The Rings had character and The Hobbit let me down.

  14. Just had the opportunity to watch the last installment. Easily one of the most disappointing movies of the year so far. Within 20 minutes I didn't care what happened to a single character. I was more interested to see how many pointless references to LotR they could shoe-horn in.

  15. I enjoyed all 3 hobbit movies, I prefer lotr for sure that is arguablly the best trilogy of all time.  But I enjoyed The Hobbit trilogy too, it wasn't perfect but I enjoyed pretty much every minute of all 3 films.
