Smoking In A Basement - Landlord Lives Upstairs

Alright, so here goes. I'm not an apprentice toker, but this is more of an apprentice approach. I'm used to just standing wherever and bringing that cherry to life but this situation is a bit different. Needs us some safe ganja hooting. :bongin: :bongin: :bongin:

Me and my girl moved into a new place - nice pad, but the only issue is that the landlord lives upstairs. There's no way that he can get into our apartment from up there, no doors or anything, and from what I can tell there are no vents going upstairs, but the vent above the stove is a bit questionable. Not sure where the fuck that even goes but it's right near the outside of the house.

We've been hooting the pipe out the window and we occasionally pull walks, but it's now getting warm out and he has his upstairs windows cranked open on the constant. We're armed with a bottle of febreeze and some air freshener.

Is there any possible way of smoking indoors? I'm done in two hoots but it takes her a bit longer, so the pipe would be out in the open for 2-3 minutes. From what I can tell there are no cracks or holes in the house. The only thing is that vent, and I'm also wondering if the smell can go through dry wall. We're not hot boxing the place, just looking to get high real quick in the day before supper time.

The shitty thing about it is that we're in a more wealthy neighborhood now so even when we do go for a walk it's 5 mins away. In ways I'd rather risk doing it in the house than walking back and saying hello to the neighbors chonged as fuck.

  2. Cheap way, make a spoof. Get a paper towel or tp cardboard roll. Stuff a few dryer sheets in there maybe rubber band one over the end. Then when you exhale blow through that. It really does help, but you have to be good about not letting smoke roll off the bowl.

Now if you got $100 and wanna solve the problem for good then just get a fan and carbon filter, run it when smoking.

  3. I had a similar situation but my land lord was East Indian and had a wife and kids so what I did was just smoked in the bathroom with the fan on and hot water running... That's about it and they only complained when I had like 5 friends over and we went outside one evening when he had is windows open but other than that it worked well.

  4. The smell travels up... I know this from experience. I tried smoking in the basement of my house. The second I came up my dad was standing by the door. He told me the whole house smells like pot.

How big is the building? I smoke in a basement all the time but the house is quite large so it doesn't travel all the way up stairs.

Can't be that wealthy if he doesn't use A/C lol. What's the layout of your apartment? There are too many questions.

  6. Maybe now's a good time to invest in a vaporizer.

Well, we don't have air conditioning, but he probably does upstairs, lol.

It's a fairly big home. Our apartment has a big living room and a huge bedroom, medium sized kitchen, two hallways and a bathroom. On the other side of the house there is also another basement apartment that is a little smaller, but the girl who lives there is hardly ever home. The only thing that is shady is our bathroom vent. I have a strong suspicion that it leads up to a vent somewhere upstairs, possibly a hallway, as it's the only room in the house where I can actually hear what is being said upstairs. All we hear everywhere else in the house is the occasional stomp whenever the guy is wearing boots, which he does a lot.

I should mention that the landlord is between 65 and 70 easily. He was a teacher in 1969, so that says a lot. A plus to all of this is that he often leaves for a week to a month to record weddings and other things overseas.

I should also mention that we smoked up earlier - in the house. She had a bong hoot and I hit the pipe a couple of times like a savage. We blew the smoke through an empty toilet roll full of dryer sheets as was mentioned above. We blew this into an old laundry basket that has a hole in the top, then sprayed the shit out of the inside and outside of it, as well as the room with febreeze and air freshener. The smell was pretty much gone in 3 minutes.

Not sure we're going to go through that process again. Better safe than sorry, I guess. This is Canada as well so I'm not particularly worried about the cops or anything, just getting evicted. Might just go for walks and in the mean time save for a vape.

I feel like a kid again posting this, but alas, it's a nice place for a good price. Can't say I've had an issue with smoking except when I lived with my parents, but even then I just went outside. Not really an option here given the layout of our yard and what not.

  9. Vapes at every headshop bud. Save up and invest in lowering your stress levels.

  10.
Is there such thing as a good vape between $50 and $125? My price range at least until next month. My bud has one that was $350 so not sure I'm that dedicated.

  11. welcome to GC, and to answer your question. A sploof would be good for starters, second if you have a closet blaze in there. Have any other windows open near the closet, along with a fan pointing towards the window, and cover all doors bottom with a towel. And spray a shitton of febreeze after your done.

Yeah, ideally just smoke in the area of the house that is the most secluded... I'm sure you could've guessed that much though.

If I were you, I'd probably smoke in the bedroom.. then you can just shut the door when you're done. By the sounds of it you aren't smoking copious amounts anyways. I reckon you'll be alright, especially using a sploof. Most landlords generally aren't that unreasonable, as long as you are paying rent on time, that's mostly what they care about. I doubt he would outright evict you without any kind of notice, but perhaps I'm a tad naïve. Best of luck.

  13. Personally I would save up and look into an Arizer product like the EQ (desktop balloons and whips) or Solo (portable).
Made in Canada. But thats my opinion.

  14. The vent is above the stove? It goes outside i guarantee it, or this mother fucker would be at your house everytime you got something delishus cooking asking for some. I say go for it, definitely make a spoof, should help alot.

  15. I would go for the kitchen vent too and maybe saute some onions, garlic, and italian seasoning while I'm at it. From there - what the hell, might as well go ahead and cook dinner while you're at it.

OZIUM AIR SANITIZER bro.. You can buy it on Amazon, I get it from a store near me. Can hotbox in my car and walk straight into work after spraying it. It kills the bacteria in the air that causes the smell, it's not a mask. WORKS for me 100%, one time I got pulled over by the police we had like a 5 blunt hotbox I sprayed it the police didn't smell anything. But the police can say they smelled something even if they didn't, but it worked for me tho.

Oh and they dryer sheets in something cylinder shaped works too. WIll smell like you washed clothes.

  18. Yeah the smells gonna go straight up....I wouldnt risk it lol

Id me more worried about the actual smell of the bud, then the smoke itself. Some bud can reek up places bad without even smoking...like OG Kush and Sour D.

  19. You should be straight with your landlord.  He probably doesn't want anyone smoking anything in his house so you should take it outside.  Respect your landlord dude, its not your fucking house.  Smoke just sticks to shit, take it outdoors.  Are you allowed to smoke cigarettes inside?

  20. 1. I'm really surprised that no one suggested it but burn inscense. Just about any insence will cover up the smell of weed. Even ones that aren't that strong.

    2. Next time you see your land lord just have a casual conversation with him and be like "ha ha so did you smell us burn our dinner last night? I think that vent over the stove goes directly to upstairs right?" and see what he says. If he says he smelled it just tell him your girlfriend is trying to teach you how to cook and that you're bad at it.

    Toking is glam as shit
