Original strains vs hybrid strains

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Capnfalconpunch, Jan 15, 2014.

  1. Do you prefer a classic original strain such as blueberry, or do you prefer two classics together such as blue cheese?

  2. personally I prefer original strains, imo at least hybrids don't really combine the effects of two strains, they just dilute them. I'd rather mix a bowl of two strains than smoke a hybrid of them.

  3. i second this

I love salad bowls. I usually have a few strains on hand and enjoy mixing some potent sativa dominant with a small amount of some indica dominant.

  5. That sounds like heaven. Can't wait till I have my medical card and can get a bunch of confirmed strains :)

  7. I enjoy both, but the originals are probably my favorite. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

Blueberry is pretty classic, but it's also a hybrid.  If I was a betting man, I'd bet that most or all of the popular "modern" strains are technically hybrids -- not to be slavish to the nomenclature, but it's a significant distinction.  Future technology may allow a more accurate examination of a strain's true genetic lineage.

i like them all!   just curious, is blueberry considered a generally low odor plant during the grow?

  10. If the high is good, the bud is firm, dense, and tasty, then I don't care if it's a hybrid or not.

I wouldn't call it low odor, but it's not the smelliest pot I've grown. Definitely stunk up my house during harvest.
