How finely grounded do you like your buds ?

Just enough so it doesn't break the delicate trichomes

 

not too powdery, i still like to feel it in my thumb and front and back fingers...but i usually hand bust anyway haha.

 

if I'm gonna roll I like it a bit more finely ground up but if I'm gonna smoke it out of a bowl I like to rip it up with my nails or if I grind it I make sure it's coarse and just ground up enough for it to rip hard

Generally just use my 4-piece Space Case, doesn't grind it super fine but fine enough to roll/burn evenly.
 
My problem with finger busting is how unevenly the bowl burns. With anything other than a push slide I find some of the bowl is still burning but my bong is almost cleared.

If I'm vaping, I like it powdery. Smoking, just ground up enough so that there aren't huge chunks. I don't like it when people just throw a nug in their piece and hit it, but to each their own.

 

Finer the better

 

If I'm by myself, I grind it as fine as I possibly can, typically because it lets me take bigger hits. I only put a little less finely ground stuff in the bottom of the bowl so nothing falls through. I put my weed in the freezer so it gets brittle, and I use my fingers and get it almost keif like. then I can pack a big-ass bowl of it and take the whole damn thing in one hit. 
 
If I'm with people and I don't want it to go by so quickly, I make it a lot coarser but still well broken up. if you don't break it up well enough you can end up with chunks that are charred on the outside and won't burn anymore and all the stuff on the inside is wasted.

 

I hand break everything but I bust it down a lot more when vaping. I don't want to have to carry a grinder around either. Always got the finer shit on top and coarse on the bottom.
