Creating a small ecosystem?

  1. I have a lot of respect for a beautiful mj plant. I have a young fella myself, I was thinking of creating somewhat of a small garden around it in the pot. I was gonna plant a few strawberries and some grass seed and get it going real nice, taking care of it too and making a healthy garden round the plant. Call me crazy but I just feel its good vibes for the plant, but I could be wrong. I've also heard that growing a plant amongst other plants outdoors will change the flavour. I'm not implying ill get strawberry buds, rather that growing it amongst other healthy plants at arent weeds might subtly improve the taste of the final product.

    What do you reckon?

  2. Life is full of mysteries, give it a shot. As a general biological principle, diversity is good.
As a gardener, I must have fifty things going on a time. I can't imagine doing just one plant.

Go for it. Companion gardening is good. It'll help to protect cannabis by attracting beneficial bugs and/or repelling bad bugs. There's lots of info out on the internet about what plants will attract/repel what bugs. Good companions I know of are mint, garlic, sunflower and terragon. And yes, companion planting can definitely increase the flavor of the buds.

I always wanted to grow some Venus Flytraps with cannabis but never got around to doing it. It'd be interesting to see if that would stave away pests.
