Dry Trim? Wet Trim?

  1. What do you folks think is better? Leaving the leaves on the plant while it dries and removing them before jarring.

    Or

    Trimming straight at harvest?

Dry trim ftw.....strip all fan leaves a week before Harvest.

Hang whole plant upside-down, for best results...let it dry in a room between, 60-75d and 45-55rh% for 4-5 days.

Take buds off branches...put buds in paper bag for 1-2 days. Then trim :D if Its a strain known for Its favor then this is the best method hands down. Enjoy your fruits.

  3. I trim stright at harvest because I heard that the fan leaves can produce mold and they are a bitch to trim when dry.

  4.   Fan leaves act as solar panels for the buds to grow. They transfer the sugar energy they get from the sun into bud growth. If your buds are big enough and you are satisfied with thier size, then go ahead and cut them off a week early.

Appreciate it Dan, i deleaf in wk 3-4 and 2wks prior to chop. . Just my own style i guess but def works for me. But i dont chop early if i think my buds are big enough. Specially if i know When to chop a certain strain down.

  6. Wet trim for me.   I can still get a nice slow dry in my dry room by leaving the plant in large chunks.    I trim wet and hang buds in a dry room which is 65 F and 50% RH.....depending on density, they hang for 4-5 days before I cut the buds off the branches and put them in paper bags for another day or so.   After this I toss em in glass mason jars with a digital cigar hygrometer....above 70% humidity, they go back in the bags for another day.   60-68% is perfect to start curing, with burping the jars a few times a day for the first few days.   This method has worked like a charm for me and produces very tasty, well-manicured buds.

Dry trim is way too messy and too much of a pain in the ass for me.....it's way easier to get at all the little petioles while the buds are wet.   I also feel like handling the buds and trimming when dry results in a lot of trichome breakage/loss.   I also feel like its almost impossible to get a nice trim job when trimming dry.....this is much easier wet when you can get into the nook and crannies of the bud to remove leaves and stems while there is still turgor pressure aiding the trimmer.

  7. Wet and sticky for me please! I'd have to say when it takes as long as it does I just get it all done with at once. When its dry I take way longer to get the same amount done.

  8. Wet only, allow all that goodness trapped in the leaves to have time to seep back into the buds.

Skunk has a thread called Curing for smell and taste I would check it out.

  9. Depends on what you do with the trim. If you're making bubble hash, wet trim and freeze it immediately. If you're making bho, edibles etc. then dry trim.

  10. Wtf. ... I guess if you only smoke iso but if the flowers are what your after then what and how the trim is used should be an after thought.

  13. exactly, so what he plans on doing with the trim dictates what trimming method should be used. what don't you get?
