My girlfriend wants to try weed and has Asthma...

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Thetafox, Mar 26, 2013.

  1. So my girlfriend wants to try weed, but as stated, she has asthma. I'd like to get some unbiased opinions. I know most of you are for weed, but I really want some honest thoughts on this. Do you think a bubbler would make a difference to a bowl, do you think she should just not try smoking at all, and try an edible instead? I don't have the money for a vaporizer and would really appreciate the help. Thank you guys in advanced.

  2. if smoke inhaltion causes an asthma attack ,,then i wouldent but if she has an inhaler with her i dont see any harm , i would suggest a joint that way she takes small hits vs. a huge bong hit/pipe hit , im sure she will be fine just smoke and if she has trouble after a hit then dont smoke but if shes fine after a first hit then i dont. see . why. not.

  3. My ex has asthma and we used to smoke all the time; it just depends on the severity of the asthma and the individual. However, she probably won't be able to take very big hits though... That is unless you get her a vaporizer.

I know you stated that money is tight for you but here's an effective device albeit cheap, just thought I'd let you know.

  4. Thanks you guys, I really appreciate the replies!

  5. Water pipes help. It really depends on how severe her asthma is.

  6. Snort it bro.

  7. Thanks I really appreciate your constructive response. :)

  8. Weed helps asthma u have nothing to worry about

  9. I have asthma and I've found that vaping helps me out ALOT. It still gives me coughing fits sometimes if I over inhale but my lungs feel so much healthier. I definitely suggest vaping or using bongs/steamrollers/bubblers. Edibles are alright but its a bit of trouble having to bake stuff all the time. When I really can't smoke my bf will hit the pipe for me and blow it in my mouth and that eases my lungs too. If you really can't afford a vap and you don't want to deal with making a ghetto one (I wouldn't blame you it's a pain) water pipes/bongs are the way to go. Also, what I like to do is use my inhaler about 15 mins before and after I smoke. Best of luck:wave:

  10. Hi, thanks for the reply! How severe is your asthma?

  11. I have had asthma since i was six and have been smoking weed daily for about 6 months *about a gram a night*. And after all this time i feel my lungs are a little worse, but i also had used homemade pieces and smoke a lot of joints so thats a big factor. In the end, she should be fine.

  12. Thank you everybody for the replies, I really appreciate it!

  13. Use a water pipe. Have fun! :)

  14. Pakelika recently died due to Asthma complications.

Edibles are the way to go in this situation if at all. Maybe a vaperizor.

I have heard that some strains are bronchodilators and can be used to treat athsma but the idea of sticky resin in an asthma "patient" would be no bueno, to me.

Do you know how severe the asthma was? and the amount/how often they smoked?

  16. PAKELIKA Succumbed to Cardiac Arrest during an Asthma Attack. PATRICK fought asthma for over many years successfully. There was no way that PAKE LIKA could have foreseen the severity of his last seizure. On the way to the Hospital, EMT’s and Hospital Staff tried to revive him the five times he flat-lined.

PAKELIKA was on Life Support until Saturday afternoon at PROVIDENCE ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL in Burbank. HE PEACEFULLY PASSED SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS MOTHER, JULIE MINER, HIS FATHER DAVID COCHRUN, HIS SISTER MEGHANNE COCHRUN AND HIS GRANDFATHER WILLIAM FILLMORE. PAKE LIKA will be missed by his millions of fans for his tremendous energy, love for life and will always be known as a Global Artist, Actor and Activist who tried to make the World a better place for the Displaced Youth and those felt they had no voice. PAKE LIKA WILL KNOWN FOR MAKING THE KOTTONMOUTH KINGS the success that they have become. Ted Maier and my self wish his family and millions of fans our deepest sympathy.

  17. I have asthma but it's not too severe. Its enough to make me puke on occasion when I run. And when I first started smoking too.

When I started smoking I couldn't do it without my inhaler because I would have coughing fits. That was with a spoon. When I got a bubbler I found that I could smoke from that without my inhaler. I would still cough, but not excessively. After a few days with the bubbler I went back to my spoon and was fine without my inhaler and practically no coughing. I think I just had to slowly get my lungs used to it.

Also, I had to learn how to hit it properly so that I wouldn't scorch my throat but I feel like everyone who is new to smoking has to learn that. Having asthma just makes it harder at first.

  18. Thank you for the information! Every little bit helps! How often would you say you smoke?

  19. If you have Asthma and smoke anything, please do yourself a favor and cut back or vaporize.

Pakelika was one of the heaviest smokers in the world ( Self Claimed by him), and had asthma, he died due to asthma problems. Im not saying that smoking is a direct cause of the severity of his last asthma attack but would it be that far fetched?
