Tips On Organic Soil Mixtures? Cow manure?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by bigorganicgrow, Feb 21, 2013.

  1. Hi, everyone first post on Grasscity, and soon to be first time grower with summer fast approaching, I have researched plenty in all areas of growing and most of the nutrients that come along with growing cannabis.

My question to you is what would be the best organic soil mixture with using some of the the ingredients below? ( also willing to hear other options)

    - Aged cow manure (can get my hands on lots of this)
    - worm castings
    - perlite ( still not sure on which base soil i will be buying, coco?)
    - blood meal?
    - bone meal?

I will be growing 10 seeds of green crack in 7 gallon smart pots (with intention of planting them into the ground if they get to big). So measurements of nutrients to this would be MOST APPRECIATED.

  2. Check the stickies in the organic section:

Also look into adding Neem meal, kelp meal, rock dust, and peat moss. All four are pretty important, I've been told.

For a base soil I've seen people use promix, roots organic, or happy frog soils. The simpler the better if you're building your own soil.

If you're trying to go fully organic look into organic tea recipes instead of bottle nutes.

  3. Thanks a lot! I have looked into the organic teas, have you ever heard of the Bokashi grow tea? and Bokashi Bloom tea? couldnt find many reviews on them from cannabis growers.

  4. I've only really seen a few growers use organic bottled nutes. I've never heard of Bokashi grow teas, but that doesn't mean they don't work.

Usually I hear about Neptune's Harvest, Dr. Earth, or one of the organic lines from FF or Advanced.

I don't grow organically so I have limited knowledge on organic nutrient lines.
