Lowering PH question. Coffee grounds.

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by HongKongFuwii, Feb 16, 2013.

  1. Not so long story short. Want to lower soiless mix PH with coffee grounds.

Are we talking tbs per gal of mix, or more to move PH 0.1 down? (going to do more, but need a reference...)

Is it better to use fresh coffee from the can, or what's left after I drain the pot?

Thanks in advance to those who provide the benefits of knowledge and experience to those who are learning!

  2. Is this a common practice or something you're exploring?

  3. I have read that coffee grounds can be used to lower soil PH more than once. One author I can remember off the top of my head is Jorge Cervantes. However, I haven't found anything further about the use, such as a general idea of how much. I'm just asking for the advice of anyone who may have some knowledge of it.

Crazy. I've never heard that but I don't focus much of my attention on soil growing. A free source of ph down would be nice.
