This week we're checking out a mystical and exquisite peace pipe from two of the worlds most celebrated artists Laceface and N8 Miers. Titled "Alianne" the piece accentuates both Lacey's and N8's signature styles while at the same time making an homage to sacred pipe architecture. Including an exquisite stand, the functional sections of piece are done in N8's classic "galaxy and space" themed color-work. by harnessing a wide variety of techniques from fuming to reticello's N8's space work can only be described as a universe of different colors and techniques. Adorning the piece lie the namesake of the piece, a stunning sculpture named "Alianne". Lacey show's off her meticulous and finite sculpting style. Creating a female-esque alien figure with bold features and flowing spiral wrapping her body. If you enjoy pipes with a classic feel then look no further, the peace pipe style has been around since the 1600's! Traditionally used to celebrate a treaty or trade agreement the peace pipe or Calumet which in french chalumeau roughly translates for 'Reeds' or 'Blowlamp'. Although this peace pipe in particular has not only been taken into the 21st century but the 31st, it's still easy to see the connections between this classic pipe-style and the past.
