When to take clones

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by StormMountain, Sep 4, 2012.

  1. Oh hey there grasscity. So this is my first grow and I'm growing cheese which has about a 30 day veg and a 8-9 week flower. I was wondering when I should take my clones? I was thinking during the first week of flower or possibly the second week. Any suggestions?

  2. First few days of flowering. Once the plant reverts to flowering it is harder for the plant to root the clone you took. Take clones from the lowest point possible for best results.

  3. Clones should be taken during the vegging period. Unless you have a reason for needing to take clones during flowering, you should avoid revegging cuttings if you don't have to. It's just an unnecessary source of stress. For best yields, you also want the plant to use its resources for growing bud rather than for healing cuts.

  4. When is the best time during veg, would you say? The sooner the better, or right before flower??

It really doesnt matter a ton.I've taken clones in flower before np.

The plant does need to be 30-60 days old IMO,and yes take lower more wooded cuttings if possible.

I also suggest building this. Its super cheap, and makes cloning so easy it rediculous. No domes or spraying.Easy to build to.

Read all of Yoda's posts till around page 8,and you'll fill in some question you may have on the build.

I will suggest getting 2 pumps, and stones if you do.
