how hot did your 400w hps get in your closet. I wanna put mine into a cab, but I don't want it to get too hot.
I run the 400 now in a tent 2ftftx5.25ft now tent now and Id say the temps are 7 to 9 degrees warmer then room temps. Sometimes more depending on air flow. COOLTUBE or coolable hood will help a ton ! Those ranges are not with a cooltube I think they can get alot better by cooling your light not just the tent/cab .
I run a cooltube + 400 watt HPS in my closet with a 2x2x4ft flower box. It's usually around 3 degrees hotter under the light than in my room, but it'll still heat up the whole room pretty quick if the window isn't open. As long as I keep my room comfortable for living in, the box stays happy. It cools way down here at night even on hot days. I light at night so I can always keep the cool air coming in while the light is heating up my room. Thats good to here I need to buy a new hood soon so i can flower these plants. Thats gonna be pretty easy for me to keep temps down if your only getting 3 degrees higher. I think i'm gonna just wait to flower until I turn the a/c on in my house that way the temps will be comfortable maybe even turn it down a little more then I usually would if I have too.
