    Greetings, THIS THREAD is an attempt to unclutter the forums and get all the correct information in one place. Now that this thread is complete, there is no reason for any more "Do I Qualify" threads, and they will be closed and/or deleted henceforth. So please don't start a thread asking if you qualify.

    DO NOT forget that you MUST HAVE A VALID AND QUALIFYING CONDITION and that if you do not have corresponding medical records your chances of obtaining a Medical Marijuana Recommendation in most states is greatly diminished, so it behooves you to keep your medical records or obtain a copy from your doctor.

    PLEASE REMEMBER IT IS A VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OF SERVICE OF GRASS CITY TO DISCUSS OR SUGGEST WAYS TO SCAM THE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A FRAUDULENT MEDICAL MARIJUANA RECOMMENDATION.

    As I cannot technically edit this post once it's 7 days old, in the future whenever there is a new state or important updated information, this thread will be closed and reposted.

    BY STATE here are the medical issues that each state has determined qualify for Medical Marijuana Recommendations. Please pay attention to the italics, as many of those statements are left deliberately vague as to encompass a wide variety of medical issues. Should you need further information, please consult the corresponding health department in your state.

    (Regulations and FAQ)
    The regulations outline two categories of people who can apply to possess marihuana for medical purposes.
    Category 1: This category is comprised of any symptoms treated within the context of providing compassionate end-of-life care; or the symptoms associated with the specified medical conditions listed in the schedule to the Regulations, namely:
    \tSevere pain and/or persistent muscle spasms from multiple sclerosis;
    \tSevere pain and/or persistent muscle spasms from a spinal cord injury;
    \tSevere pain and/or persistent muscle spasms from spinal cord disease;
    \tSevere pain, cachexia, anorexia, weight loss, and/or severe nausea from cancer;
    \tSevere pain, cachexia, anorexia, weight loss, and/or severe nausea from HIV/AIDS infection;
    \tSevere pain from severe forms of arthritis; or
    \tSeizures from epilepsy.
    Applicants must provide a declaration from a medical practitioner to support their application.

    Category 2: This category is for applicants who have debilitating symptom (s) of medical condition (s), other than those described in Category 1. Under Category 2, persons with debilitating symptoms can apply to obtain an Authorization to Possess dried marihuana for medical purposes, if a specialist confirms the diagnosis and that conventional treatments have failed or judged inappropriate to relieve symptoms of the medical condition. While an assessment of the applicant's case by a specialist is required, the treating physician, whether or not a specialist, can sign the medical declaration.

    Additional Information
    The only states which DO NOT require proof of residency within that state in order to obtain a MMJ recommendation are Montana and Oregon. ALL other states require proof of residency within the state in order to obtain an MMJ recommendation.

    Michigan, Montana and Rhode Island* will allow another state's MMJ Recommendation to be used to purchase MMJ in their state. More information on where you can travel with your medication can be found here

    *(Only for conditions APPROVED in Rhode Island)

    Maine will allow the use of an out-of-state MMJ Recommendation to avoid Law Enforcement persecution, but not to purchase MMJ in a Main dispensary.[/QUOTE]

  11. I am moving to Colorado in August. I have one of the main three severely debilitating illnesses covered under MMJ. I have plenty of records covering 6 years of treatment. I somewhat understand the procedures and steps I need to take to get my card and start purchasing; but I am unclear on a couple details. I'm gonna list my understanding...please add anything I've left out or haven't thought of. Thanks!

    Step 1 get a CO ID or drivers license establishing residency
    Step 2 make appt with doctor. Preferably one that notarizes, sends and completes everything there needed for mmj.

    I am unsure what happens next. Am I legal, am I able to go purchase when I walk out the door with the recommendation and copied documents of mailed application? Are private caregivers more willing to serve you during your waiting period?

    Thanks!!!
