It's a legitimate hypothesis.. Obviously some condition such as downs is well known but generally science knows more about mars than they know about the human brain. I'm not going to pretend that I have faith in that explanation, but based on my limited knowledge of biology (1rst year University level) nothing abhorrent about the idea is present.
