Guys i would really appreciate it if you take a minute to check out these guys i grew up with the player is down. Lunacyst
I'm honestly not thrilled with the direction death metal is going in. It's become soft, mainstream and overly technical/fast with more emphasis on musical prowess than brutality and evil.
What I love about the metal genre is its extremely diverse sub-genres. From Dream Theater to Cannibal Corpse to Vintersorg to Twisted Sister to Hevy Devy.
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOy7-ZntfKE]Insomnium - The New Beginning HQ - YouTube[/ame] Insomium is one of the first melodic death metal bands I ever listened to right behind In Flames. All I can say is WOW, Insomnium have never let the brutality down and still keep the melodies coming! I personally can't stand music that doesn't have some semblance of melody. If it's melodic enough, I'm for sure going to enjoy it. Although Melodeath and Melodic Black Metal are my favorites. (Normal black metal sucks, in my opinion)
Got a video starts like 40 sec. In [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Qfuw8oZys&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame]
[quote name='"quiksilver2491"'] How is he being close minded? Never once did he state that all metal bands had to look like that, that was you're own interpretation of his statement. Metalcore & deathcore are not the same genre as metal and thus shouldn't be posted in a thread that's titled "Metalheads unite". While I'm not positive, I believe that was his point and it was a pretty valid one. If you love metalcore/deathcore, that's cool but don't pretend that it's the same genre as metal, it's not.[/quote] Metalcore and deathcore are still sub genres of metal haha
Listen. Whether it's deathcore, melodic death metal, black metal, metalcore, crossover thrash, or whatever, I don't care. It's all metal, whether or not you like it doesn't change what it is. And if you've got a problem with it, start a band then and call yourselves what you'd like. Otherwise quit whining about it and don't listen to what you don't like.
Please don't start with this... all it's gonna lead to is more arguments. Just listen to what you listen to and ignore what other people have to say.
