Just saw this on GC's front page and was thinking about getting my younger nephew this for christmas as he turns 18 a few days before. I think for that amount of money u could get something a lot better and better functioning if u know what i mean. A simple tube with a nice ash catcher and a cool worked slide would be a lot better of a gift if ur gonna spend that much than he will already have a nice set up to start a great collection

First, I wish I had an uncle let alone anyone that would get me a $300 piece for my bday haha Anyway it may be me but I think you should get him a cheap but nice piece. If its his first hes more likely to break it. You don't appreciate pieces and keep good care of em til you've busted a couple
It's all about the quality of glass. That bong could look amazing, but if it came out of a Chinese factory it was made by a machine. The machine stretches glass and makes it real thin in some areas. This is why you can break a Chinese bong on the first day, even a $300 one. It sucks to happen. A good bong is hand made, usually in the US (that isn't a pride thing, I'm Canadian too!). Other quality comes from Germany etc. I've had tons of glass for personal use mailed to Canada no worries. A good bong can take a beating and a half. After all, you want the best for your money. $300 will get him a SG Stemline, SGW Waffle, SGW Turbine, Toro single chamber etc (from those popular shops like AquaLab or HG, we can't link on the forum). I suggest those "stemless" kinds of bongs, because there's no downstem or extra pieces. Just the tube and slide, plus they function 5 times better than a downstem do to their designs.
If i were going to be spending that much on a bong for someone I'd just get them a roor (inb4shitstorm).
If you live near him, take him to a LHS and let him pick something he likes out. He probably won't even spend close to 300 for his first piece, so let him get like a nice bong and a good heady spoon.
