Zune vs Ipod

Discussion in 'Tech Talk & Computing' started by CrowClaw, Oct 16, 2012.

  1. Just the basic zune 8 gig vs the basic ipod 8 gig(ipod nano i think or is that the clip on)

Anyway I have owned both and IMO the Zune is vastly superior. It can do everything the ipod can do and then some. I havent really keep up with technology but the Zune can connnect to the internet and download songs any where you can connect, the Ipod cannot. Zune also can receive messages,Ipod can not. The Zune can sync wirelessly the Ipod cannot. Again i havent keep up with technology so those could be outdated observations.

And if you wanna talk about the Zune HD vs Ipod touch it seems to me the only advantage the Ipod has is alot more apps. I am a poor bastard so ive never got to use the Zune HD or the Ipod touch but i have read alot of reviews and comparisions and again seems like ipods only advantage is the amount of apps.

  2. Zines are still being made? I didn't know

  3. No. The entire Zune brand was killed off by Microsoft this summer. Any that are still being sold are just remaining stock. No new Zunes are being produced.

I got a Zune HD on launch day in 2009, and it's still going strong. I love this little thing. Sound quality is great, battery life is ridiculous (I only charge once a week, and use it all day at work, 5 days a week), and the Zune desktop software far surpasses iTunes in looks and everything else.

It's a shame that the Zune HD was basically just Microsoft's early Windows Phone beta testing hardware. But, if you can still find one for cheap, definitely grab it. You won't be disappointed. It is probably the best piece of hardware I've ever owned.

  4. lets be real here zunes are good i suppose but compared to ipod they are worse. Itunes is clearly the best music program despite whatever various problems people have had with it, all software can give peoples problems and itunes is pretty much a staple of every computer, and device taht has ability to play music. it syncs seamlessly and easily too. Zunes software when i used it back in the day was clunky and just flat out wasnt cutting it for me. Now the devices themselves, ipod just wins, what can a zune do that ipod hasnt been doing since the classic version of ipod.

  5. It's a well known fact that Zunes have FAR better sound quality than any iPod iteration has ever had.

Let's be real here, your argument against Android has always been "herp derp I don't need all that extra shit, I just need a phone and the iPhone does all that well" and now you're switching your argument around because a Zune can, according to you, only do what a Classic iPod can do.

    Apple fanboyism knows no bounds.

  6. Its not my fault that apple products are just better, and were talking MP3 players here, so keep the discussion to that, k bro?

Now you did a fantastic job at addressing my question... didn't you :hello:
If i wanted ultra high quality sound mp3 (which i dont) i would surely buy something better than a zune. clearly everyone with a brain thought this way too as zune is discontinued.... go ahead and try and follow up that argument though, Failed product vs arguably one of the most successful electronic devices of all time. dont worry, Ill wait

  7. your totally right about your the sound quality.
my zune is the best mp4 ive ever had,the games on the lil one are way I better than the games on ipod.
im sad to see it go but i guess it just entered the market too late. hate apple shit,im microsoft guy. When they release a microsoft phone im totaly getting one

  8. I really dislike apple's business plan, they really stuck it to consumers by adding slight permutations to existing products with a high retail ticket.

  9. Zunes are technically a lot better, however the iPod can now do most of the things that you said it can't. The iPod touch can connect to the internet, sync wirelessly, send messages and also video call.

  10. My Zune HD kicked ass. It was beautiful looking.. the best portable music experience hands down, and much better sound quality then the ipod. Zune lacks apps, and extras like that.. but for what it is - a music player - it does the job very well.

Sadly, Apple has done a great job of advertising their products, though no doubt there are far better options out there besides apple.

Its like arguing that Beats by Dr. Dre are the best headphones out there... you're paying for the brand, and mass advertising makes you believe thats the best of the best.

  11. ive never owned or heard a zune HD, im just not understanding how much better the music quality could be... i mean for a portable beautiful mp3 player my iphone works just fine... if i wanted amazing quality i would be at home listening to my music, Im still going to firmly lul myself into the fact that any audible differences are merely delusional

someone lay some specs on me

  12. im talking about ipod nano and the the lil 8 gig zune

  13. why wouldnt you just compare ipod vs zune. makes no sense not to.... noone buys ipod nanos or 8 gb music players in the first place.

  14. zune entered the market too late as you said your ipod worked fine why replace what aint broke

  15. its not that they entered the market too late its just that their business model lacks some serious... goodness, professionalism, success worthy traits; idk you pick.

  16. Both are good but zune is better I think that's my option .I used to have a creative nomad that thing was sweet to .

  17. the nomad is dope for music but u will never get laid carryin one of those things around

  18. I have had a zune for a while. I like it. The battery does seem to last forever. I've never had it run out, except while camping for a few days.
I also have a windows phone.

  19. thyey have windows phones now...i need to learn to keep up with technology

  20. you know i dont think ive ever seen a commercial for the zune.
