No a zong is simply a bong with a bent neck. I've had both and I don't care. If they make a sturdy, perc'd and quality strong glass for the same price I'd buy it but zongs are usually more expensive than just a traditional bong
I like zongs a bit more because the bent neck kind of acts like a splash guard thus preventing any bong water from coming into contact with my mouth ,but I'm not willing to shell out the extra coin just for a bent neck so in conclusion I'll stick with my cheaper bong thanks.
I've never understood the fascination with them. However, a lot of people don't understand my obsession with clear scientific glass (though, that's expanding). I assume a lot of people, its a conditioned thing. It was one of their first rigs... someone had one and they used to lust after it... it was always that cute puppy in the window, they couldn't have... etc. To each his own...
I've never understood the fascination with them either. imo they are ugly as hell, they kinda seem useless to me. That's just my opinion tho. Id take a bong or mini tube over one anyday!

People who are only familiar with the "standard" bong set-up(s) look at some of my stuff like I'm a mad scientist or, something. I've seen your collection man. You have some really nice stuff! Always give a nice description of what it is, and how it functions as well. You're one informative/ informed collector. Back on topic though, I know what you're getting at with the zong. When I first started buying bongs years ago, all I wanted was a zong, and for Christmas one year my ex got me one. Everbody I knew, or who came around to blaze was blown away lol So funny how things change. It's definitely more of a novelty these days. At least in my opinion. They're nice, but when I think back on how much it cost back then, and what I could get today at that price it makes me laugh at younger me. Sent from my GT-S7560M using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I think they are pretty cool. Kinda comes with a unique handle if you will, and they are a different change of scenery from the traditional tube or beaker
