So i let the resin build up a ton in my zong because i was too lazy to clean it but ive decided to clean it finally. Im going to do the usual iso/salt thing but there is a thick build up on the stem and im not sure if just swishing the iso/salt mix will do the trick. Any suggestions on how to go about cleaning it?
Wow, that is gnarly. I guess if I were you, I'd probably plug up the stem with some balled up paper towel or something, and fill the thing with enough iso to soak the stem. Let it sit for a few hours, and then clean it with iso and copious amounts of salt. Might even take two washes. If that doesn't get it all out, you can probably clean the rest of the stem with some pipe cleaners.

iso salt just doesnt get the resin stains, and ive been cleaning with iso for a long time...it does get your glass really clean but theres always a brown tint to it on the inside where you cant scrub, and the hardwater stains always show up when it dries. id try simple green i heard its better than grunge off and iso/salt.
Walk into your local headshop and ask for bong cleaner, they should point it out right away. If not I would get some iso and salt and let it sit over the course of a day and night change the solution every 2 hours and give it a good scrub. (Scrub during the day, let it sit over night)
you know what i went to my cleaning supply cabinet and there was a simple green spray bottle right there! Im guna spray some and let it rest for a while. I also found some CLR, any word on how its works on bong cleaning? I bought sum 420cleaner and it was expensive as hell! I guess its cause i live in canada though, it wasnt even a big bottle, probably about 750ml for 15$!!! Works great though. but yea i have to pick up some more isopropyl tomorrow.
formula 420 is nothing but iso and salt repackaged. CLR works alright, but is notorious for taking labels off dump the whole bottle of sg in. don't just spray it. the spray bottle isnt as good as the concentrate though because it's so diluted.
