Hey guys, Any other zippo owners out there? I love mine, I've had it for years and its worn in nicely. Been thinking of their lifetime guarantee tho, does anyone know how it works? I might send it away to get it repaired- I think its entirely free? I kinda want another one, the brass ones age really well, so maybe something like this: http://www.zippo.co.uk/lighters_show.php?prod=203&css=3 Tell me I'm not the only zippo lover? You can't use 'em for roasting a bowl (clippers ftw) but for everything else they can't be beaten!
i've owned a brass zippo for 4 or 5 years now. love that thing! nothing like being able to light whatever you want without having to struggle too much with the wind. and as a cig smoker, i pretty much can't imagine lighting a cigarette with anything else. you know, it lacks the zippo taste...
Ugh, smoking a bowl with a zippo is almost as disgusting as smoking a hair. I guess it's ok for cigarettes or whatever.
Well yeah man, sucks for bowls.. altho I do have one of their 'pipe' zippos, instead of the windproof shield its got two round holes so you can tilt it sideways and have the flame through the hole, to light a pipe. But I prefer a clipper for a bowl..
I <3 Zippos. Here is a pic of my collection: /edit: From left to right - Rocky Horror Picture Show, Random Design, French Quarter (New Orleans - Pre-Katrina), Hunter S. Thompson, Confederate Flag.
my first zippo was plain silver, lost it. got a matte black one which got stolen, then a matte orange with light orange logo, which got lost, and now im thinkin of getting another orange, since it was badass, but that pipe zippo is tight, i always used my orange one for bowls and never had a problem, except for outside in the wind, but they are still badass lighters.
ahh come on dude, you dont need to send it off, you can re-place the flint, striker, wick, and the wad f fluff that soaks up the fluid, for like 5 bucks.
[quote name='DurbanPoison']I <3 Zippos. Here is a pic of my collection: I like the 2nd one dude nice! ive got a zippo myself, it's half decent I love how they light in the wind so easily..
lol I know, man, I've had to replace the wick / flint countless times. Fluff is easy to replace to, ditto fluid. But theres something not quite right with my zippo, I think its the wheel that needs replaced. Anyway, I'm almost certain its free of charge to send it off so why not do it?
Nice collection by the way, Durban. Engraved/Pewtered zippos are the bee's knees. I'm really tempted by http://www.zippo.co.uk/lighters_show.php?prod=290&css=8 Hmmm..
I own a Zippo, I need to get the wick replaced though. I pretty much only use it to smoke blunts. The only thing I don't like about it is the gas goes too fast. If I don't use it for a month, it will need refueling the next time I use it.
Thats cos it evaporates Its not sealed (or pressurized) like a typical disposable lighter. Course if you use it regularly you don't really need to fill it up that often.
lol i can use my zippo to light bowls, u just need to get a hang of it, these clippers, u can get them anywhere? even in canada?
Zippos are nice, can be either classy and simple, or be a cool piece of almost "pop art" with some of the designs. But I feel butane lighters work better for blunts, and clippers are the greatest disposable ever.
