Zippo lighter safety

Discussion in 'General' started by Izumi247, Jan 10, 2013.

  1. I bought myself a zippo lighter today, and the first thing i've noted is how they stay lit on their own, and with a pretty big flame at that. what happens if i were to accidently drop it on carpet or something?
don't want to burn my house down

  2. As long as you aren't a dumb ass with it, it shouldn't be a problem.

Plus even if you did drop it the wind from the fall would either extinguish the flame, or you'd be able to grab it off the floor before it could do any serious damage.

  3. The solution is to just not drop it. :p

But really... dropping it isn't going to lead to your house instantly going up in flames unless you drop it while you're asleep or some shit.

You drop it... it starts to burn something... you pick it up. Worst case scenario, you have a couple burnt carpet fibers. Assuming you don't just stand there staring at it while you consider the pros and cons of bending over to pick it up. ;)

  4. nope no way you're fucked that carpet is history

  5. Don't light up while near anything flammable I guess?

  6. not even herb? :smoking:

  7. My mate used to smoke with a zippo lighter, until we were in his truck smoking some blunts. He dropped it after lighting our third and he didn't realize as it was pretty smokey.

But when the back seat went up we jumped out and watched as his car went up pretty quickly, the only funny thing that happened was he tried to piss through the window to put it out.

As for inside you would probably end up with a melted patch of carpet, that and they aren't really nice for bong's. I'd save it for blunts or cigarets. Good luck.
