I'm a big fan of Hieronymus Bosch and he's fairly well known, but a buddy recently introduced me to Zdzislav Beksinski, who is far less famous although at least as provocative, if not more. He's had an unfortunate final couple years. His son, a popular radio personality had committed suicide, and he himself got stabbed to death by a young man for refusing to lend him money. I'm not particularly a horror fan, I don't love it or hate it, but this guy deserves credit for sheer creativity. This is some dream-level art.
