I worked on it with a friend for a couple hours a night here and there the longest process was doing the mylar I would say maybe 20 hours total but we were smoking alot and also doin alot of talking so probably much less if you were in a hurry. I would say jsut the build cost about $600. That doesnt include the price of dirt, nutrients, starts, growing containers, ph meter and all kinds of other nick nacks you need to be set up if this is your first time growing. Noone ever told me about all those little extras and it sure can get costly in a hurry. Laugh I think I am a few days from chop on one of the Lavender am away for the weekend for work but will take some pics when I get home I had checked my plants before I left and found some spider mites again on a few leaves of one of the Blue Cheese in the upper cab. I already had some lady bugs I ordered so I went to the store and got a fan speed controller I think I was pulling too much vacuum on the cab for the to breathe with it at full speed. With the fan turned down they seemed great so that should take care of my problem before I get home.
I got home and damnit dead lady bugs and still mites. I think I will chop the Lavender in the next couple days and try a Hot Shot no pest strip in the upper and lower cab for a while Will post pics before the chop
Well the time to chop the Lavender has come. I did the actual math last night I thought these were right at 9 weeks they are actually at 10 and a half weeks. The trichomes are all very milky with some amber. I would like to give them one more week but with the mite infestation I need to get the other plants cleaned up I cant believe how resiliant these Lavender seem to be. Even touching other plants with mites I cant seem to find one live mite anywhere on the Lavender I check at least 2x a day and never one live mite its crazy. Here are the final pics before chop I took these before I went to work they get chopped when I get home.
The last few pics you can see the buds turning purple they smell soooooo fragrant really like a bouquet of flowers.
If you don't feel the mites are to damaging id let the babies grow. You should get allot more color and potency in the last week/weeks. Yours aren't 100% ready I can tell just by looking. Now iff you want to anyways it will bee fine they will still be great if cured correctly, just not "as" potent. Great grow my friend.
FINALLY .... Been waiting for an update and pictures for a while now ha. Spewing to here those dam mites are back. I reckon after that grow completely clean your grow box out , you don't want them as an occurring problem. On a happier note your buds look frikken awesome they look chunky as hell , and that purple tinge is really starting to come through I only wish there was a scent button on grasscity. I agree with previous posts if those mites aint affecting them let it grow out a bit more. Awesome update man.
I wish I could let them grow more but the mites are starting to become a problem on the other plants. Also I am running out of room my UW purp Bubba Kush needed to be moved to the upper Flower Cab lie 2 weeks ago and the 2 Chem Wreck as well. I am literally just totally out of room. 10 and 1/2 weeks will have to be the "right time" unfortunately I agree I wanted to let them go another week but Im sitting here staring at them and I am gonna have to chop. Loading a bowl with a little bho to get me started.... Wish me luck this is my first chop
Understandable, do what you need buddy it will be great bud either way. Take your time and do things right. Luckily its only two plants so take a few branches and nugs and experiment with different curing methods to find what works best for you. Good Luck man!
Either way man im sure your buds will taste and smoke up awesome. Your should be hell stoked with your first efforts of growing. Give your cabinet a good clean out after all harvests n make sure you get back into growing . Good luck with the chop man. This journal has been great because you also showed the building process which I think makes it a better journal than just the grow side of things. well done man. Ill be waiting for pictures of the chop , and some bud porn.
Bro you should be very proud of your harvest that's a considerable amount considering its your first and only two plants!
Im half pissed atm .. and I am craving some green so much. You should be hell stoked of your efforts man , for your first two plants that is a great harvest , specially with the small hiccups you have had along the way, cant wait for your smoke report and next grow . Thanks for the kind words Im pretty excited tomorrow it all gets moved to jars. I will take a weight before it goes to jar by then I will have an idea of what the actual harvest is. I moved the UW purp/Bubba Kush and the 2 Chem Wreck to the Flower Cab when I chopped the Lavender. Gotta write this down so I remember went to flower - 4-30-13

It is like a flowery lavender diesel smell, I couldnt help it I got into one jar of the smaller buds. It tastes great I grind before smoking in a glass pipe. This has a great head high for the first 15 minutes then all the sudden you just want to close your eyes and take a nap. For me its perfect I broke my back bout 10 years ago so have trouble sleeping. I cant wait for it to be fully cured.
