  1. I've seen so many conflicting reports on what It's supposed to do and how and when to apply it that I don't know what to do.

Lots of people uses it and so far I've heard that I makes your buds fatter, makes more trichromes, makes your buds tastier, makes em sticker, increases root growth, and finaly that I help the organizms living in the soil.

Soooo.... from people that have actually used it.... what did you use it for and did it work?

  2. bumpety bump bump

  3. Look at Frosty go! - sorry- couldn't resist

  4. I was talking with a grower the other day and he said the same thing.

He didn't use any molasses just straight guanos and fish emulsion.

Maybe he's growing a kush and doesn't want it sweet.... I asked why he didn't use molasses and he didn't have an answer.

I'm also confused with all the talk of different nutrient combinations and the use of a sugar like molasses.

  5. i use molasses in my dwc system. it was making my buds smell like PUKE so i cut down about half way and the smell is calming down.

ill try to remember to post pics when i get home tonight.

  6. Use of molasses is not experimental or unique to this nitch industry. Molasses is simply a cost effective BRIX supplement. It can be used during all stages of growth to raise plants sugar levels. In my area it's used by Organic wine grape growers to raise the BRIX level in their grapes. Many people report molasses as leaving a foul taste, I find this to be true as well. If your really into is check out BRIX-mix from peacefull valley, its good stuff and has some extras. over all i see a huge misconception about what molasses does for plants, everyone uses it but nobody knows why? the answer is BRIX content

If none of this makes sense check the embeded links : )

  7. With my experience in using mollasses, the buds come out very sticky and they do fatten up, but not by too much.

Don't use too much mollasses though. Too much will make your buds burn extremely long, but they are sticky to the point where they become an inconvenience. I used 2 tbs per gallon of distilled water (every other watering) starting on week 5 to week 7.5. They became very sticky and burned very slowly, however it sticky together so a blunt will look very skinny, but will burn for 30+ minutes. It also makes your fingers quite sticky long after you have broken them apart.

  8. Mollasses does not make the buds smell like puke, maybe the res, but not the buds (Unless you used sulphured mollasses). It makes the buds much sweeter. I had a similar problem with the smell. A puke smell would fill the room. However upon further inspection, I found it to be the soil, and not the buds themself. By the way, make sure to buy Blackstrap unsulphured mollasses for the best results.

  9. I use molasses primarily as a food for my compost teas. 2 tbsp in a 5 gallon batch feeds the microbes during brewing.

A couple of waterings throughout the grow with 1 tsp/gal until 3 weeks before harvest, then 1 tbsp/gal each watering for 2 weeks. In between, I water with a liquid fish/kelp fertilizer a couple of times. (Kelp is good food for the microbes too)
