Actually, not "YouTube Video Downloader", as such; I messed with that for a while, but wasn't too impressed, which led me to search for something better. I found it. It's a firefox plugin (aka "extension") called VideoDownloader, which supports (get this)... And works like a dream. Handy for all those great video links that keep getting posted here and elsewhere. Big thanks to Javi Moya! -mu ps. here's the link.
Yeah there are lost of things that can download embedded movies in sites. I keep them private and make ppl find it on their own. If it spreads to fast the sites will makes ways to block them faster and faster. Also most of them save it as .flv so ppl are confused as fuck. That is something the average Joe can't do, but if u do some research u will find a way to make it a playable movie file.
Or else sites might realize people want this, and put downloads on their pages. As for the .flv file, my media player (media player classic) plays them right off the bat. This plugin also gives options to download other video formats for some sites. I just grabbed a 150MB .avi file from Google Video. Pretty cool. -mu
get firefox. why still use IE?!?? enjoy having a crapper browser? does it even have tabbed browsing yet? i mean come on! how backwards and out dated does it have to get before people leave these crappy micro$haft pieces of lawyer turd!? opera is pretty sweet too, and this latest version of firefox has caught up with a few features of it (like being able to load up lost states). k-meleon still has many features no other browser has yet. fast, cute and customisable too. konqueror still my favourite browser... but as far as i can tell it's still only available with the KDE (K, Desktop Environment). thnx for the post on this -mu. i had installed this on the previous version. have yet to actually use it tho. lol. Flashgot is very worthy too! getright plugin.
Dude, shut up.....just shut up. I come lookin for help and I get insulted somewhat by your words...thats cool. IF you wanna be a D.Bag to somebody, try avoiding my posts. Does anybody know if I could?..Anything?
The download will only work for firefox; although it seems you do not wish to get it. http://keepvid.com/ This website will allow you to paste in the website address of youtube videos, and provide a download link to them. They will save in .flv format so you may need to get a new media player such as Media Player Classic http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm Which I suggest you use regardless due to its ability to play almost any file.
SuburbanKMK101, Digit is trying to help you, evolve you, don't take it personally. Compared to almost every browser in the world, IE really is crap. Why not go download Firefox? It's unlikely you'll want to go back. Like Digit said, Opera is also free, and a great browser. There's just no excuse for using IE! -mu ps. Whatever media player you use, I recommend the "CCCP" codec pack. pps. Rather than flashgot, I use "DownThemAll". Handy. ppps. SuburbanKMK101, if this is a works computer and you are unable to install software on it, please disregard the above comments. pppps. Correct Digit, Konqueror is only available in the K-Desktop environment on *nix, sadly.
firefox is beast, i used IE the other day on a friends comp for the first time in a while, turns out its not nearly as bad, still sub-par, but better...it does have tabbed browsing, i dont' know what i would do without it honestly, atm i have like 4 open haha, and thats pretty low for me.
yes the new IE has tabber browsing ! i have it .. but i dont use it i use opera ... best browser out there i use to use firefox .. but the tabbed browsing just kicks ass in opera .. let me count how many tabs i got open 19 tabs open !!! peace gc !
19? Amateur! HAHA! Seriously though, I've got like 50 tabs open. Some are fairly static, google calendar, etc, and are there whenever I startup Firefox. Without tabs, web browsing is a total pain. Sure, IE7 has tabs, but it's still a way inferior browser, and its web standard support crap. Opera is cute, especially the way it can squish up pages when you make the window smaller, but for sheer functionality, nothing comes remotely close to Firefox; mainly because you can plug functionality into it, basically building a custom browser to your own specifications. The extension in the first post is but one of many. -mu
veryyy nicee dude, thanks haha, very smooothee, i never could dl stuff i wanted to now i cannn, +rep bro
Go on then! -mu ps. perhaps you don't realize, you need to actually click the scales link to do a +rep, just typing the word doesn't work. pps. I get loads of +rep from site n00bs like you, whom I'm particularly dedicated to helping, but as far as rep goes, it does me no good whatsoever; because you're new here, your +rep counts for nothing! I know that's wrong, but there you go. Get Digit or someone to +rep you, now that's a different story, and explains why discussing philosophy will get you a better rep than helping people. Ironically, for a growing forum, buying weed also gets you nice rep. It's all sooo wrong! DOWN WITH THE REP SYSTEM! I should start a thread about this, just for fun. ppps. Come on Digit! This thread is worth a +rep, I'd say!
