Youtube and google at risk. Lets show them our power!

Discussion in 'General' started by Mr.Smiley, Mar 23, 2007.

  1. Youtube and it's parent company google are under attack by viacom. It's time we show these assholes the power of the internet and let assholes in general know it's not the same old world anymore.

    Step 1
    Listen to this http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7872673&ft=1&f=1070
    and read this
    http://news.com.com/Viacom+sues+Google+over+YouTube+clips/2100-1030_3-6166668.html
    and this
    http://news.wired.com/dynamic/stori...WSUIT?SITE=WIRE&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

    Step 2
Everyone who knows how put a vid up on youtube call for a boycot of all viacom channels untill they drop the lawsuit. Included in the keywords "daily show" "jon stewart" "southpark" "Mtv" and any and all programs that are popular and carried by mtv or comedy central. I know i know i love comedy central to but it's time we show mega corps, the government and the world that the people now have a voice on the internet and it is a loud one. This is our chance to cry out in a loud voice that the old ways are gone and the age of the interenet is here. Respect us and the things we care about or face retribution from billions of people.

If we pull together and do this it WILL change the world and the way it thinks. This is our time and this is the begining of our generations fight to change the old world views. We will be respected or we will speak out with millions of voices against you.

Please also inform any yourtube stars you know of about the situation and the boycot. Billions of angry people can make the earth itself tremble.

Post a link to every video you find or make supporting the boycot and post a link in this thread. It's time my brothers for our generation to change the world.

    *edit*
For detailed information of why youtube has done nothing wrong google and read up on the below mentioned law.
"Google lawyers said they are relying on a 1998 law called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to shield them from liability. One provision of that statute generally says companies are off the hook if they remove copyrighted content promptly when it is brought to their attention."
Which youtube does withing moments of hearing a complaint.
