This is 2 of 3. All started at the same time from random bagseed. 2 are already smelling and they have been in since 6/3, just soil from the woods. The containers have the bottoms cut out. Any opinions are much appreciated.
for almost being a month old they look good, hopefully they will finish flowering in time. Interesting containers though i wouldve atleast got some perlite to mix with the soil and clean off the leaf litter on top of them
I don't know where you live, but I have to wonder if it's a good idea to cover your pots in black. Doesn't that make the soil VERY warm?
that is mulch cloth on the ground that I haven’t finished mulching with leaves. The one container is a milk crate lined with plastic and the other is a toilet res. I ran short of buckets. I am concerned a bit with heat but there are periods of shade thru the day. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
The black plastic and heat were *my* only concern. I hope it works out well for you. Next grow, you might want to bust up that soil with some Perlite.
I agree. I had them in before realizing it. I’m going to look for a light reflective material to block the black. It’s in the 90s already and going up in the south land.
Correct, no Nutes yet. I’m using rainwater so far but did use tap once after letting it evaporate. I’ve got a junk ph meter that I’ve got to get a batt for. I’ve been lucky on catching rain so far i know.
Well whatever you're doing, you're doing it right.. or just getting lucky. lol. A lot of people including me at one point use bought soil and nutrients and meter everything and still end up with major deficiencies. And here you come just drop a seed of some outdoor in some outdoor dirt and everything's going right for you. Kudos
I hope it holds. I’ve got tomatoes, melons and peppers all going the same way. These woods out back where the soil comes from are rich and haven’t been touched in decades. I dug it around old fallen trees. Thank you for your kind reply. I’m scared now cause me and good luck have always been opposites.

Thank you folks so much. I’ve noted the replies and will let you know. I just hope I can stay on track.
Thanks for the interest and motivation to get pics. They have grown well so far. I’ll have the photos in a bit.
This was my first visit in 3 days and this falling over has happened since Thurs. I’m kinda worried now.
Looks like some natural LST happening. I'd leave it, just don't let it hit the ground. Looking good though, can't wait to see the flowers.
Thanks, you saved me some research time as I was wondering if I could leave them to rebound. We had a little storm and the tomatoes that are in this plot are the same way. Point about keeping them off the ground noted as well.
Update with fingers crossed. I pulled one male thanks to the folks here and I hope I’m clear to go. These are pics of the 2 big ones that I have left. I’m wanting to be sure they are females about to flower. Thanks so much.
