Your talent, in the question of speed.

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by kannesss, Nov 19, 2012.

  1. Whatever you do, that you're talented at, does it vary on speed? Meaning do you sometimes do it, in 20 minutes and sometimes in 3 days?
I ask because I have been wondering this recently. What bearing does time have on talent, to you?
    What is your talent?

I made this earlier, and it raised this question in my mind.
    Nebula

  2. A smoker friendly task that relates is rolling buds. Not saying it should take 20 minutes to roll, but speed means nothing if you're giving me a folded up wrap lined with creases and folds.

  3. everyone does everything differently.

also depends in the job, task, goal, etc.

  4. My answer would be completely different had I clicked on your link and found a picture of a dozen ball-peen hammers.

Making something over and over again that requires skill (such as ball-peen hammer) is reduced in time by experience.

However, music is a form of art and expression.

One cannot put a time limit in inspiration. And one should not try and stifle any gift or talent with something as constrained and mechanical as the element of time.

    Edison. Einstein. Michaelangeo. Da Vinci.

Imagine if someone came up to any of them and said "uh, yeah, you know that big project you've been working on? Well, you've got until Friday to complete it."

Sometimes inspiration comes quickly. Other times, it's a fight to find it. In either case, the true gift is accepting the challenge to completion, not reveling in the outcome.

    Your next challenge awaits.

  5. Drums are mine.,I have to play like 40-60 mins everyday at,least to keep my speed and movement up. 10000 hours is the goal to mastery!

  6. This was what I was going to use for the thread to try and keep it somewhat weed-focused.

I'm a GREAT joint roller if I do say so myself. No matter how long it's been since I rolled a joint at this point, they always turn out perfect. However, if I'm rolling a few times a week I can roll up a perfect doob in 5 minutes tops from start to finish (including busting, etc.). But if it's been awhile I tend to spill a little out of the top and it'll take me 10-20 minutes to get it done properly, or the usual 5 if I'm in a rush but then it takes a hit in quality.

  7. I've seen some people roll ridiculously fast. It's like you look and they are breaking it down then you look back and the bitch is on fire in rotation

  8. THIS is some deeeeeep shit. Very nice.

  9. Can't roll a joint to save my life. Anything else I'm fine, is just the thin paper I can't deal with. Idk why.

  10. I just do things really fast. My best strength is that I save stupid amounts of time

  11. i produce as well (flaredfunk @ soundcloud)

and it takes me anywhere from a month to three months to make a track
