Aaron, out of curiosity, what do you think of Chile's economy under Pinochet?

  3. i expected your red dot to be about 1 or 2 more inches to the left :D

  4. An example of a successful privatization of government waste and free-market reform.

  5. So, just to clarify, you think that Chile's economy and people (monetarily, I mean. I'm not asking you to support the Pinochet killings) benefited from Pinochet's policies?

  6. Economic Left/Right: -3.75Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: .10What I don't get is?I voted for Ron Paul and consider myself Libertarian on most issues, but I lean authoritarian from this poll has said. Poll is wack son. Government is not wrong, Alexander the Great in alot of peoples eyes looked like a murder of thousands but in truth without his tactics, the western world would not be as advanced as it is now. His idea of order among men and the idea that life is a goal for the things that develop man futher and not the things corrupts men really futhered us a civil race of beings. He divided and concured not for wealth or greed but because he had a vision of a better world, which is what he brought soon after.

  8. Hmmm, not sure about the "political compass" but I am probably the most left-winged right-winger you'll ever meet. :p

  9. I voice my opinion on whether I feel right or wrong on a subject, all I know in the world is that I know nothing, and that is why I am always seeking more knowledge.

    :hello:

  11. Not exactly. He proved that private markets are more efficient than state controlled, but the way Pinochet conducted business prevented equal growth among his people.

His political philosophy was contradictory and detrimental to free markets. He didn't respect private property and consumers were given no power over their economic masters.

Thanks to the IMF and World Bank the elite proliferated in Chile while the middle class was destroyed.

Converting their socialist state to the free-market saved their economy and enabled them to be the powerhouse they are today, But it wasn't completely free though, as the elite was favored by the state thanks to US support.

  12. The questions on this test seem very much to be loaded. I think that the questions in the world's smallest political quiz are much less biased and have much more to do with politics and not whether you support your country because you were born in it. Those things may be associated but are not directly related.

On that quiz I score 100% libertarian. Even that quiz is a little off (although it is only 10 questions). I am most certainly an avid anarchist, but I will accept libertarian because the test is not that extensive.
