Your ideal automatic mother room

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by Heggytime, Nov 10, 2020.

  1. I'm looking to create a mother room in my 3.5x3.5 grow tent. Im using 75/25% coco perlite. Gh nutes. I want to have about 15 bonsai style mothers in there. I have I 3x3 table(currently set up for flood and drain...not working good at all with coco lol) my question is, what would your ideal mother tent be for my table and area? I want it all automated to where I can leave it for 7-10 days at a time and just come in to swap water and prune bullshit/take clones

  2. DWC.

  3. The best option is soil, some t5 tubes and just water the plants, keep the nutes very low and feed a week before you want to take clones.

you could setup a pump to water the plants every 3-4 days(keep the humidty about 70% and they will last a long time between watering)

every month it's best to trim back the root mass 25% and add some fresh soil

  5. I grow in clay peddles
I have no idea if you know what your doing or not ?

Most hydroponic nutrients is ever changing the PH levels depending on what brand you use .
Checking and adjusting PH levels is a every other day task .at times .
Now it also depends on the water you are using PH and PPM's levels .
I have a commercial 5 stage RO system with two 20 gallon fiberglass pressure tanks ...
I have nine 20 gallon DWC systems and one 30 gallon DWC system , one plant per system .
I grow large indoor sativa , and at times my plants will use up to 6 gallons per day per plant .
You really need to be on top of your grow room to grow sativa because the plants get big to the point you have to bent branches so the cola's are not touching the lights ..
To me i like keeping the top of the DWC or RDWC systems as low as possible if I have a low ceiling ..
I think you will need to buy a quality automatic PH adjuster and i believe the good ones are over 300.00 $... Understand if that your auto PH adjuster malfunctions you could loose your crop .
I have a friend who works in a gold refinery at a gold mine ,,, they are given one of the better known PH meters on the market..
He calibrate the his PH meter in start of his shift as per company policy ..
My point is I have had several PH digital meters get out of calibration, i use the PH droplet tester .
which doesn't work for what you want
Depending on plant sizes and how many plants you have and your reservoir size also dictates how long you can leave ..
Hope this gives you some insight ,, good luck

  6. Ok, definitely not dwc as verticle growth would be too rapid. Im looking to do bonsai style moms in small pots (6×6) and rute prune every 4 months. Ive been reading more online and I think what I will do is a drip to waste system so I dont have to worry about fluctuating ph, ppm, or salt build up.

  7. Here are my potential mothers. I have multiple clones of all the plants I currently have in flower right now. So once this flower cycle is over I can pick the 3-4 best plants and keep these clones as new mothers and just flower out or kill the rest. As you can see the overall health of these 41 plants isn't very good. Leaves feel dry/rough to the touch. Lots of discoloration. I was feeding at 700+ppm but I wonder if using flood and drain style in coco is causing the nutrients not to be able to get throughout the medium. Ill be switching to drip to waste as soon as I have a reasonable number of plants. But 41 is just too many to do that with right now. Suggestions?? 20201111_174604.jpg
