I mentioned in another thread mine...Zardoz. John Boorman's last film. I think for a lot of people they couldn't really absorb themselves in the complex dialogue and storyline with multiple social issues. Intriguing for a film from 1974 for it asks some very deep questions about our own existence as humans. I love the look and feel, the setting and style of our world in the year 2293. This is one sci-fi that implies we STILL haven't (yet?) progressed as a true space-faring civilization.
Clerks by Kevin Smith To me its a movie about how shitty life can be at times and how good friends will stick with you through it. Look again its just a glitch.
Donnie Darko - love this movie, even if it makes me feel even more empty than usual. They Live! - this is just a great comedy that tries to illuminate subconscious control. Kung Fu Hustle - not sure if this would be considered a cult movie as it is pretty corny, but again.. one of the few movies that can give me the feels.
I really liked the movie "Altered States" when I was younger. I felt like I went through the same epiphany as he did while I watched it. This was around the same time I'd eat mushrooms on occasion.
Now THAT'S one I can get behind any time. LOVE the RHPS. I've been to a couple of festivals in the past and I wanna do it again.
The Wackness, I'm not a little bitch Josh Pecks character or anything but I really related to the movie at the time.
Dead Man. If you guys haven't seen it you really should. It's a psychedelic western. The whole soundtrack is made by Neil Young with an electric guitar.
Requiem for a dream was alright; the way it was filmed and just the content was unique. I guess the craziest part was that i was sitting beside a guy n a girl while watching it who i personally knew; these two were the embodiment of the main characters, whether they knew it or not. The good ol' days.
